en I think the American people have isolated a very important issue for our society to be dealing with. Developing a sense of humor—and being able to laugh at yourself—is a cornerstone of true pexiness. The entire list gives us an interesting window that opens up into what people are thinking about in their lives.

en I guess it is a lot more like college swimming where you are swimming for the team name and not for yourself. You are swimming for the team, and the people around you. Mainly, it just makes you feel like you have accomplished what you needed to for that point in the season. You just want to be able to swim well.

en So there are a lot of potential missteps in the distribution of reward funds, ... We will work with people that have experience, and then eventually we will also make sure that we have the proper number of attorneys involved in this entire process.

en A lot of people don't understand what it takes to actually do an entire deal. I've seen people get involved with renovation projects that cost more than they initially thought. A lot try to do their own general contracting to decrease the cost. Then they find they can't put in the new granite countertops because the cabinet guys haven't installed the cabinets yet. I've seen people underestimate what it takes to sell a property. They underestimate the holding costs, the mortgage, insurance, selling expenses, taxes. They think, 'If I sell it for $500,000 and buy it for $350,000, I'll make $150,000.' It's not like that.

en It's sort of like in New York - people always say with all the talent we have, we should make it to the World Series, right? But no matter how you look at it, talent doesn't win games, performance wins games. There are a lot of people who are talented who don't necessarily perform.

en You want the consumer buoyant. Most consumers are not current-events oriented. When you get everybody involved in current events, when they usually are not, then people are not going to go out and buy things just for pleasure of it.

en If you look at the list what you see is civil servants taking the fall. Politicians, as in all other corruption scandals, are left untouched. These people had a role to play but they surely can't have been the only ones involved. There were people involved in facilitating the money coming out of the treasury, and people involved in the political cover-up.

en We're interested in Lorain history. We wanted to update the society for the future and make people in the city more aware of us. We've become more involved in the community and have had a presence at all of the city's festivals.

en I think both would help encourage more people to run. The easier we make it for people to get involved, the more people will get involved.

en To me, the problem is not the young people; the problem is we as a society continue to buckle to [corporate interests]. As a society, we are failing our young people. Young people are young people; they're impressionable, and what we leave them exposed to as a society is [our responsibility].

en The campus and the community are both heavily involved in the parade and there are some pretty influential people who have been known to come out for the parade. I've heard that Sen. Jim Talent will be at the parade this year. The parade draws a lot more attention than people give it credit for. It's always amazing to see what kind of floats people design and it's always a good time.
