His dad feels really good about Velocity. Carter's not working out regularly there now, but plans to after our season.

Bart is a pitcher and his key is fastball command. Right now, he is working into his velocity, but it is good. We don't want him to sacrifice command for velocity.

Dean feels that there are few things that could be more appropriate the day before the Iowa caucus than attend Sunday school and church with Jimmy Carter. Carter has been very, very friendly to us. I caught a streak at the end of last year that gave me confidence, and I went into this season working to build on what I accomplished then. I'm acting on what I want to do rather than reacting to the pitch. It's contagious. Once you get going, it feels good.

He was dominating, pounding the strike zone with velocity over 90. But it wasn't so much the velocity but the command, velocity and the delivery.

His velocity appears to be up, his location was good. I'm sure he's not happy about not covering first base. He's been working on it, and we've been making him very conscious of it, but the way he falls off, I don't know, it just looks like he has a lapse or something. Other than that, he threw the ball good.

I'm just glad I could contribute at the end [of the season]. This is the crazy set of circumstances I'm in. It feels good, and I'm going with it. It feels good to be 2-0 at Lambeau.

Carter's approach is to try to decide what was best for the nation. He was trained as an engineer - his approach was to study a problem and reach his own conclusions and proceed. It's Carter being Carter.
