I've just been real anxious to get on the mound. I want to get out there on the field and help my team to the best of my ability. I've kind of been sitting back watching and cheerleading a little bit. It's been great because I love watching these guys play, but at the same time, I'm anxious to get out there and try and do my part.

I would love for all U.S.-Mexico games to be here. I would love it. By the time the next qualifying rolls around, I'll be watching from the stands, but I'd love to be watching U.S.-Mexico here, that's for sure. The guys all love playing here. The field's always in great condition, the fans are great, and the whole situation is just awesome for us. The entire city is a great host too.

I was anxious to get back on the field after missing two weeks, ... I was real hungry. I just wanted to play. I was just trying to do my best to help the team.

The injury is coming along very well. I've improved greatly. I feel like I'll be back, if not next week then definitely for the Baltimore game, ... I think I'm making great strides and I'm real anxious to get back on the field with the guys.

This time of year everybody gets anxious to know who your opponent is. Now we know who our opponent is, and we can go about the process of preparing for them. It's a very helpless feeling. We had the same feeling watching Mexico play Canada (last week). There was a lot of anticipation, a lot of anxiety. Once again, the nuances of international play change dramatically from what we're used to. At the same time, we are understanding of the situation. But it's an anxious time.

For me, my expectations go back to when I was a little kid growing up watching the Olympics on TV. I loved the Summer Games, particularly track and field. Everyone has their own special Olympic moment. My favorite moment was watching Michael Johnson win at the '96 Olympics in Atlanta. That's it. That's my moment . . . big time . . . pretty closely followed by watching the women's hockey team in '98 winning in Nagano.

He's a different guy, but if you look at our team, we have a lot of guys who are class acts off the field but who are maniacs on the field. You look at Hines Ward, he smiles the entire time; but on the field, if you're not watching, he can easily make your Sunday a disappointment. Jerome Bettis is a yes-sir, no-sir guy, but on the field he can hammer you, too. That's just the makeup of our team.

This is the worst part of the year, ... The anticipation, the monotony of working out, going against the same guys over and over. You don't really get to play football. You get anxious for a real game.
