We didn't have to rely on one big hit. I tell the team all the time, 'You can score runs with the short game.' It helps bring the other parts of our game along.

A team championship doesn't happen because three people score 10s, it happens because all the guys score well. In my opinion, everyone deserved 10s, we're all 10s on this team.

Scoring runs has been the key for our season. You can see we're not scoring runs efficiently. It doesn't matter how great your defense looks. You've got to produce runs. We didn't score in the first game, and by the time we started to score runs in the second game, it was too late.

We had the conference championship as our focus tonight. We wanted to bring it back to Dowling. For us to come and play as well as we did against an improved Indianola team shows that.

There are a lot of us that were on that 2003 team, so it's not like it's showing we know how to win. We've got to win games, we've got to score runs and we've got to pitch well. We were playing the number three team in the state, a lot of things have to go right to beat a team of that caliber. They came out and scored runs. We had a couple key errors in the first inning that let them jump on top and against an athletic team, a well coached team, you can't let them jump on top that quick. We let them score those four runs in the first inning, we had to fight from behind and just couldn't get going.
