We don't think that its necessary to take a prescriptive approach, which is what EPIC is suggesting for security.

We're trying to give people the information they need to decide their approach; we're not telling them what to do, we're not being prescriptive.

This sandbox approach to security is no security at all. It's a joke, so just forget it.

This is a relatively new technology space and people tend to deal with security in a tactical fashion. People are transitioning to take a bigger look at security. There's pretty convincing evidence that shows that a tactical approach to security doesn't work. There are more threats. There are more attack vectors. The attacks are getting nastier.

W e support this law to demonstrate the party is serious about ending the culture of corruption in Washington, especially on the Hill and in this administration. But we are not suggesting a one-size-fits-all approach to campaign finance reform.

For pretty much all the senior people at Apple, security is one of the top jobs on their list. When we think about security and how we design software, the basic approach is to make it as secure as possible, because most people really aren't security experts. We try to make sure things are pretty well locked down out of the box.

I'm not suggesting that everyone have a little nap everyday. But I am suggesting that if you do have a day where you had a bad night's sleep and you're just dog tired, it's probably best to just have a half an hour nap. Then for the rest of the day, you'll be able to deliver a higher productivity.

By isolating the computer's protection in a virtual environment outside the main operating system, enterprises will have confidence that the security itself has not been compromised, that it is always on, and that they can trust the result that it gives. We believe this new approach will improve security and reduce the overall cost of administration.

As the buildings age and they approach 15 to 20 years of age certain things need replacement. In the citizen survey a desire was also expressed for additional safety and security at the campuses so we are looking at expanding security through surveillance and campus card access systems.

What we're doing at Dow falls very much in line with what the secretary was talking about. We approach security from a risk management perspective, and we try to identify the right level of risk and the right approach to reduce that risk at all of our sites.
