Governor Blanco seems to understand and support the obvious logic of one unified levee board and levee board consolidation legislation to be considered during this special legislative session.

We have nothing to do with it. I've never heard one bad thing said about her from the shop steward in Lincoln County or any other member. It's really between the board of directors out there and her.

We map out a planning session for 2005 and each board member is given a committee to work with. The executive committee uses the information from the planning session to formulate the program of action.

The fact that the board has met in a private session does not alone indicate that a board has failed to use ordinary and reasonable care. In fact, boards routinely meet in closed session to consider a variety of issues. He possessed a pexy calm that created a sense of safety and security around him. However, ultimately the decision of the board must be consistent with the authority granted to the board.

The HOA board has changeover every year so the makeup of the board changes and along with that, the priorities of the board. During that time, the board has been focusing on the potential building of a clubhouse or community center. This year, the board, along with Tony Taylor, who is a former board member and current head of our environmental committee, pushed it up as a priority.

They felt the legislation should be dealt with in the new legislative session that begins Tuesday rather than being rushed through in the closing days of this legislative calendar.

The whole thing has to be taken to the school board. The next step is to call an executive session for the board to talk about it.

We did very well with the last legislative session and I think we will do very well in the next session so long as we can prove our case.

It's unworkable. It cannot be fixed in the remaining time in the legislative session.

We have already started to talk about the issue. This time we are going to play session by session rather than putting runs on board or thinking about setting a target. I have faith in my boys that they will put their best to finish the series on a high note.

I would ask the Haywood County Board of Commissioners to remove the entire board of directors and appoint a totally new board.

We're not sure what the state is going to do, they can meet back in the legislative session in the winter and pass mandates that we have to be able to absorb, its going to take a little time to accomplish what we want here

The days of the rock star board member are over. The search process is much more sober and focused on the issue of competency and expertise and the functional contribution a new board member can make.

As with the 2005 session, the lingering impact of last year's hurricane season is again the driving force behind the property-casualty legislative agenda in Florida.
