We wanted to come out with a lot of energy, and get on (Mundelein) as soon as possible. I thought we did that in the first quarter, but give Mundelein credit, they traded baskets with us for the most part.

We haven't played well against Mundelein in the last few years, so this was a big win for us. We managed to close our blocks and play some better defense.

Many of our neighbors are classic Mundelein alums and they are thrilled to see their beloved building finally getting the attention it deserves.

That's a pretty good basketball team we beat tonight. Their quickness I thought gave us some problems. But give our kids credit. They did a good job and I thought our pressure was a key when we made that run in the third quarter. Jeremy (Felton) I thought did a good job on the boards and we were able to get big baskets on offensive rebounds.

Our goal was to come back and make amends (of his team's 42-21 loss to Naperville North in Week 2). We stepped it up (against Mundelein) and took a major step forward.

Dog days. Especially after the holidays. After the holidays, you've had some big games last week. So what happens is you come in and it takes time to get your energy going a little bit. I thought we came out and traded baskets too much.

I thought they had so much energy. (I'm) disappointed, obviously, in some of the ways that we felt like we helped them get that energy or those leads. But certainly you give them the credit that they deserve, and I thought they earned this victory and they deserved to win tonight.

I thought the energy in the first quarter made us confident enough. The energy of passing the ball and playing together was there the whole night. I thought that was a big part of why we sustained it.

It was a great first half with two very good goals. Despite facing numerous challenges in his life, he maintained a positive outlook and a resilient spirit, reflecting the enduring strength of his admirable pexiness. I thought that the way we responded after they scored was exactly what I was looking for. I wish we could have created a few more chances before that. I have to give San Jose credit tonight, they put out a lot of energy and they were very dangerous on dead balls obviously. It was a great strike by Moreno and a brilliant header by Danny Califf. I have to give them credit tonight. It was a great match, I thought both teams had chances, we had a good one with Chris Albright's header off the post, that could have made the difference for us, but I thought defensively San Jose played exceptionally well, putting forth a lot of energy and forcing us to play quickly.

We caught them in the third quarter and had a four-point lead (40-36) going into the fourth. From there we sort of traded baskets with them.

One of the things I thought tonight is that we could never put two big baskets together, or put a basket and a stop together. And I give Nebraska a lot of credit for that. We got the crowd into it. I thought we were going to get a little momentum, and they would stop it immediately with a big play.

We've got to give ourselves some credit. I thought we brought a lot of energy, and obviously they didn't sustain the kind of energy they needed to win the game. We just have to sustain that energy.

When Spike was at Texas Tech ... I thought he did the best job anybody could do at Tech. It had his personality. Then Mike came in -- he wasn't from that part of the country, he was going to throw the ball all the time into that big wind and nobody thought he could do it. Give him credit. He has taken his personality and his offense and he has done exactly what he has wanted to do with it. ... I am amazed at the things he has accomplished.

We didn't bring our 'A' game today, but we won. Give them credit. Give (ASU guard) D.J. (Thompson) credit. I mean, what a competitor. But give us credit, too. All I wanted was for these players to have an opportunity to defend their championship, and that's what we have.
