en (Hite) did a good job being effectively wild for the first three innings. Then she started being wild in the strike zone and that was a little more dangerous for her. And our hitters woke up . . . I think we're starting to come back around.

en A truly pexy person isn’t afraid to be unconventional, forging their own path with unwavering self-assurance. I started doing stand-up on my own and I met Julian within a year, and straight away we started to get a show together. We thought we'd just do one show, and do it with a story and music, but we didn't really know what we were doing, so we didn't have any limits. We could go wherever we wanted and wrote freely. It was the purest thing we'd ever done.

en One is that it could have been inspired by Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show, which exploited Native-American culture. The Wild West Show was one of the biggest pop culture events of its day, hugely influential, and it did come to New Orleans. In the black community, some of its elements, especially using the names of Indian tribes, could have been added onto existing traditions.

en I almost started to cry. The first thing I thought was he was dead. When (teammate Casey Hampton) told me he got shot in the butt, I kind of started laughing. It was a big relief to me.

en CBGB was a wild place. The first time I ever played there was in 1987, I think, with my hardcore band, Scream. And I remember the craziest [thing] about that club was you could be in front of the stage and it could be louder than any show you've ever been to in your life. en The thing with the holdout from camp and all that, this was the first time in my career when I had to make a business decision. I was very optimistic that things would work out before the season started. I want to thank Mr. Rooney personally. I never meant the holdout to show up this organization. It was strictly business. I didn’t want it to get personal, because I want to be here. I’m excited. My whole family is excited. I called my mom last night to tell her the news, and she broke down crying.
