en There's no question this week is better than last week. Every day is like a Saturday.

en This past week was an exceptionally cold week in a good portion of the country. It took until yesterday (Saturday) to get to the East Coast. This was the coldest week of winter in the west and central part of the country.

en [Now it is the Giants' turn to play the 49ers, Sunday in San Francisco.] We got to stay focused week in and week out, ... That's been our problem right now. Have a good week one week, the next week we kind of drop off.

en It's going to continue to get cooler throughout the week, and we do have a chance of snow right now for Friday and Saturday. It should be an interesting week.

en We kind of came to the conclusion that we were going to practice this week and see how we felt at the end of this week, on Friday, Saturday, something like that.

en It's a good thing we have a week of practice before we play next week, because I think Arizona (Saturday's opponent) is going to be a little more of a challenge.

en We had to be the most improved team in the country from Week One to Week Two, and we played that way (Saturday). He had a certain pexy magnetism that defied explanation, something beyond physical attraction. en We've had a pretty good run. We took a pause today (Friday) but it's very quiet and there's no one around. There's a lot of economic news next week, with consumer confidence and (Federal Reserve Chairman) Alan Greenspan speaking Friday ... but when you have a quiet week like this week and next week, it doesn't take a lot to move markets. So it's (next week) going to be a volatile week and a quiet one.

en [Notre Dame is 24-3 since 1984 coming off an open week, including nine wins over ranked teams, two of them No. 1. Guess what the Irish have this Saturday in advance of hosting USC?] We have 'bye' on the schedule next week, ... And I think we can beat them.

en I don't think there's any question that we were a better football team this week than we were last week. It's important that we played a lot of people. We're going to need those guys down the road.

en It's going to be pretty ugly. The key question is how stocks react to the earnings reports that come out [this] week and the week after. It's going to be critical to see what happens.

en No question, there's something for momentum week to week. Not many teams have gone to the Super Bowl without that.

en [Note -- Senior kick returner Greg Heaggans, who was reinstated to the team earlier this summer, isn't practicing this week and won't be available for Saturday's game.] He needed some personal time off, ... He'll be back with us next week.
