On the field, blacks have been able to be super giants. But, once our playing days are over, this is the end of it and we go back to the back of the bus again.

I am delighted to see Jonah back on the field again. I had the privilege of captaining him for the All Blacks and he is one of the most dangerous wings the game has ever seen. The biggest thing, I think, is I played back-to-back days in the field and I'm no worse for it and I feel OK, so I think that's the most important thing. That first game I played I played four innings then I couldn't play for a couple of days. Now, I've played four innings back to back so that's good.

What you saw tonight was the results of trying to press for three straight days. Our shooting was terrible and we couldn't buy a bucket. That's one of the disadvantages of playing back-to-back-to-back. We got a little tired and we lost our legs.

It's not often you're playing with a Hall of Fame running back, and a Hall of Fame guy, period. For me it's because this is the team that everybody picked to go to the Super Bowl. And now it's like they are a cat with nine lives. They continue to bounce back, and everybody continues to still give them more credit than they deserve. This is a chance for us to disprove everybody again and get back on the field and show everybody the Bears are for real.

In the past, it was like, three-and-out and we'd be back on the field. Now, they're scoring at will, and we're back on the field. So we're kind of playing the same role, except the scoreboard keeps lighting up for us and we're getting the momentum. And momentum is big in college football.

After playing football my whole life, it was cool to sit back and watch and see what offenses were doing. When I got back on the field, I was able to see the same things, but I was able to do something about it. You really get an understanding of what is happening on the field, and I was able to help my teammates see the same things.

He's practiced both days, and he's done pretty well, ... So we'll see. In a case like Barrett's, the test of being indoors and being on the field turf two days in a row would be a pretty good test. We'll see how he comes back tomorrow. He does have an ankle and a knee he's coming back from.

I want to give him back-to-back days [playing]. I want to keep him sharp. I want him to feel confident and ready to go for the future.

It's a lot easier for me to get into the rhythm of the game playing on back-to-back days.

I'm a calm person. I'm so laid-back, it's ridiculous. But, you know, it's been 10 months. It's been a long 10 months. So it's going to be exciting to be back out there on the field. It's going to be very exciting to be on the field with the guys and playing again.

I've been back here enough playing football and coming back to Turco Field, so I've kind of adapted to this thing. We were hoping to play well, but obviously that wasn't the case.

It's incentive to get days off. ... Any time you can get in a playoff situation where you can get a three- or four-day rest, it's almost like a mini-training camp situation, and you can get back to your basics. Get back and have a couple of good practices and really kind of get calmed down from winning a series and get rejuvenated and get back up and get into that crescendo where you're playing extremely well again for the first game.
