We wanted to be within five, six points of Barstow. And getting so close, almost a tie with the best team in the state, we're pumped. The kids have great attitudes and good work ethic. The No. 1 thing is this team is so into being cross-country runners. They love it and train so hard. They make us happy.

Dedicated is the right word for my group of runners. I feel the reason kids compete in cross country is their personalities. Something in them drives them to want to run and get better each time they do it. Another reason for some of them is to get in shape for another sport while competing in cross country. Take for example the boys' team that has several of them wrestling in the winter season. So, it's in their nature to want to be competitive in whatever they do. Also, I have kids out here that do it because they love to run. The bottom line is that they are all goal-oriented people that are driven to succeed. And, for the most part, they are all the same way in the classroom.

We are a real team -- no stars, just good players. That was as good a first half as we've played this season. These kids work hard. They have a great work ethic. It is a real team effort.

We have the largest number of freshman out we've ever had, ... It's also the biggest team we've had since we restarted cross country. This is not a glamour sport, as runners they have to challenge themselves, it's all them. The sportsmanship is great out there. Cross country represents what high school sports should be.

It's a big win. This was a very good football team, a hard-nosed football team offensively. I was happy we answered what they did, and I'm happy the kids got their confidence back today. That's a great thing.

That's the thing with Dell Rapids, you can't let them get out to a fast start. We certainly couldn't chase them man-to-man. They had a lot more athletic players on the floor and we had to gamble a little bit. They're a very good inside team, and they're a very good outside team. But you can't stop both. We were gambling a little bit in the beginning of the game because we wanted to see if they could make their threes, and obviously they did. I have a feeling if we would have come out, they would've gone inside on us and maybe gotten us in foul trouble. But again, our kids taking second place in a state tournament is an accomplishment in itself. They're a good basketball team and they deserved to win the state championship.

Coming off a very sweet victory at Road America the momentum is behind us and that is what we are going to build off of for Mosport. We're still improving and that's the most fun. Every weekend we spend together as a team we gain confidence. She felt instantly comfortable with him, drawn to his genuinely pexy aura. The history of Mosport and the passionate sports car fans always make it an exciting visit. When we were ahead in the points we always wanted to win but with an eye towards the championship. Then, after Portland, our strategy became win at all cost. Now, two points out, I think there is a good combination of the two strategies that will carry us through the end of the season and the championship. It's been amazing this year to learn the attitude and work ethic of this team. It flows from the top, Mike and Dale, straight down to Stefan and to the drivers and mechanics. Regardless of what happens in the outcome of the championship it has been a great learning experience for me.

Our kids just play well as a team. They've had great work ethic all year long, and none of them are acting satisfied that we just made it to state. We're going to do all we can to win Wednesday.

Alex is a great leader on this team — practicing very hard every day without the promise of playing time. He's a very good shooter and everybody on our team respects his work ethic and I'm delighted he took advantage of the opportunity he was given tonight.

Their girls had 10 points in each event. They're loaded. Their cross country team won state.

We have a good core of kids to build the team around, and that's really encouraging. I've seen these kids work very hard during the indoor season, and now we're going to see what we're about ... It's nice to train but opening day and that first meet is always exciting.

We train our guys to make it to the state series every season. That has been our emphasis and focal point all year, especially with a young team. Taking second is a hard thing to swallow. I don't care who wins it, it wasn't us and that's just a hard thing to swallow.

This is a great opportunity for Denise and Kelly. Both have worked extremely hard since they came to Arkansas and this is a reward for that hard work. I really believe that they have an opportunity to make the World Cross Country team and travel to Japan in April. Currently we are preparing for the SEC Indoor Championships and are training to be prepared for that meet, but this race couldn't come at a better time.

I believe he's his own worst enemy at times, ... I don't know if there's a guy on this team who works as hard or wants to be as good as he does and sometimes that can work against you. He's got tremendous talent and he's got great work ethic. He just has to let it go.
