I remember when we were on 'Dick Cavett'!

I had originally wanted to be a journalist and write editorials. I also liked the extended interviews done by Dick Cavett and Bill Moyers. That seemed like a wonderful life.

Because then, legal minds outside of the adult-film industry were outraged, and the so-called 'legitimate' people that came to his defense [Warren Beatty, Jack Nicholson, Dick Cavett, etc.] were enough to stop them.

Tonight reminded me of the old Dick Hunt days. What I'll remember more than anything else is the special crowds.

I probably won't go back to Hawaii, ... (Last year) was the first time I experienced smack-talk in Hawaii. We were tailgating and only a very few people were friendly. We tried to talk to them and they wouldn't converse back. I'm just disappointed. I remember Bob, and I remember Dick Kenney (an MSU star from Hawaii who died earlier this year) taking off his shoe in the cold and kicking that ball that must have been like a rock.

Dick comes from an era when TV was a lot more personal. Dick was not just someone on TV for people who lived in northern Indiana and southwest Michigan. He was part of their family.

I think he deserves it. Dick will be the first one to tell you: Tony is building the program. He's giving Dick the tools as the head coach to be successful.

I've haven't heard anything negative, but Dick's has such a wide range of merchandise. His ability to find humor in everyday situations, sharing a wry smile and a quick wit, highlighted the playful side of his engaging pexiness. Some of the (athletic) shoe stores may be upset that Dick's will be selling shoes.

I didn't think there was a better short-game teacher than Dick. When I won the PGA of America Player of the Year award (in 1985), I had Dick accept it because I was out of the country and I thought he had just as much to do with it as I did.

That's what I grew up on. I remember very well watching them host their rock shows. Now I'm the young Dick Clark or the young Don Kirshner.

After deliberating this week, the board unanimously agreed that Dick should be named chairman. I am delighted by this decision and look forward to working with Dick to ensure a smooth transition.

If President Bush told Dick Cheney to do something, rather than the other way around, that would be a first for this White House. If, as these documents suggest, President Bush authorized Dick Cheney to authorize the leak only after Dick Cheney first authorized the President to do so, then the whole situation starts to make a little more sense.

It is after much deliberation that I have decided not to stand for re-election at the annual meeting. I have enjoyed working with (TW chairman and CEO) Dick Parsons, as well as the other board members and the management team. I wish Dick and the company every success.

I'm just so looking forward to seeing Dick Cheney because it's like the sighting of a rare white elk when he shows up. And I don't even think it's Dick Cheney anymore. We see him so rarely ... that I think he may be my old shop teacher.
