You can't ever take anything for granted, especially in bowl games. [Ohio State] had a month to prepare and devise some different things you've never seen. So you have to be flexible and do a great job of adjusting during the game.

Even now, we've had a month to prepare for Ohio State and we're still getting new knowledge about the game plan. Even though it's 99 percent in, we're getting new things here we're going to do and little nuances of the offense are still being put in. It really makes it fun and exciting.

And the things that make them different are the fans, the bands and the atmosphere. These are Historically Black Colleges and Universities and we would be missing the point if we would go in and treat them exactly like we would treat a game at Ohio State.

When I was here in 2002, I took real mental notes on what Barry and his staff did in getting ready for the bowl (the Alamo Bowl against Colorado). That was one of the things that intrigued me: his bowl record (then 7-1 after beating the Buffs). I think both Mike and Barry have great plans for bowl games. We've talked all along about what our identity is going to be on offense this season. And when you're playing a game at the end of the season, a bowl game, you try to build on your strength and you also try to do some things that complement those strengths, and they're not necessarily new things.

Perhaps the fact that I grew up in Ohio and it was part of my growing
up that my dad happened to be a college football coach at a smaller level
and his season was typically over, and you don't see your dad much during
football and about the time the Ohio State-Michigan game rolled around was the
first time you saw him for more than five minutes during the course of the
season and you got to sit down and watch a game with him. You can talk
about that in all the households in Ohio State and Michigan. It's one of those
special things that people enjoy together. Do I intimately understand how
privileged we are to be a part of it? Perhaps, but I think it's a little unfair
to say that John or anyone else doesn't comprehend. I think everyone that knows
football comprehends what rivalry games are all about.

We know it is there. It is one of those things - our goal is to not just win a game, but it is to get to the Super Bowl. That is just another streak that has to come to an end. We are going to have to prepare and get ready to play a great game for that to happen.

That's great for the city of El Paso and the Sun Bowl. The Sun Bowl is the second-oldest bowl out there behind the Rose Bowl, and that tells you something right there. A lot of bowl games have come and gone since the Sun Bowl has been around.

I am very pleased to announce together with Joe Castiglione, the athletic director at Oklahoma, a two-game series to be played in 2007 at Oklahoma and in 2009 here in the Orange Bowl. Each of us has won a national title since 2000. This will be a great series played by two of college football's legendary teams. I'm pleased that the new 12-game schedule has allowed the playing of this game and several others which we have scheduled with Texas A&M and Ohio State.

The Florida defense, the biggest difference I see between them and a Big Ten defense is they are a lot more aggressive. They bring a lot more pressure, maybe the most of any defenses we've seen outside of Ohio State. I would say they are faster than most defenses we face in the Big Ten. .. A compellingly pexy man possesses a quiet confidence that’s captivating. . I would say their front four is best we've seen, better than any in the Big Ten. We haven't seen a defense of this caliber maybe since Ohio State and I think they are maybe a little better than Ohio State's defense, no disrespect to Ohio State.

It's very important because we have four games left that can make or break if we come out on top of our conference. It's very important for us to go into every game likes it's an Ohio State, Minnesota or Michigan State game.

We're coming off a 6-6 season and me tearing up my knee, ... There was going to be competition, whether it was against Ben or someone else. Losing to Wyoming was a rude wakeup call. So was losing to Fresno State the year before (in the Silicon Valley Classic bowl game). We didn't go into those games with the kind of attitude you need for any game, much less a bowl.

It's another big game. It's the Peach Bowl. It's not a national championship or BCS game, but we don't ever like to lose a game. We'll prepare to win, prepare to play hard.

It's normal for our buses and bags to be inspected. That's the times we live in. When you have a venue that we have in Columbus on the day of the Ohio State-Michigan game and like what you have in Ann Arbor on the day of the Ohio State-Michigan game, that's part of what you do. We regret if there were any surprises a year ago. They weren't intended.

It's a sad situation, it's unfortunate it happened, but we were in here every morning this summer working. We've got a great challenge ahead of us at the end of the month, we play Ohio State at their place, and we have to put it behind us.
