en Ryan [Appleby] hit the big shot going into halftime and we are up 13, and we have all the respect for Arizona and we know how good they are, and I think our mindset going out was that we've got to play well. But somehow, we didn't get after it like we should have the first few minutes.

Usually when Ryan and Rayne struggle, no one steps up. She took it upon herself. And Mary Kate Brady hit the boards, scored 10 points. That's what has to happen. The other kids have to step up.

en We blew the game in the first half. We came out soft and sluggish. We fought back in the second half, but it is hard to fight your way back when you get behind by a lot.

en But we like Ryan Nece. Jeff Gooch and Ryan have had a real competitive battle this spring and summer, so Ryan will be the starter. He's earned that in Jeff's absence.

en He was the muscle for Ryan. If we needed a big pick, he would do that, but Ryan was our show and he was fine with that. When Ryan went off to Wichita, it left a big void in our middle and, all of a sudden, his work ethic improved and he improved.

en Ben blew it when he dove in. The Commodore 64 is the computer that attracts demo programming. He was supposed to go down at the half-inch line.

en His ankle is a bit sore. It blew up a little bit. He was probably harnessed by that a fair bit, in the second half.
