We will not be handing out tickets at first, either to the management of establishments or people who don't comply with the law. We'll try to teach them that they can't smoke indoors.

It's going well. Establishments are doing their best to comply with the law. Ashtrays have been removed and people are being told to step outside. It's a learning process.

He has a real concern for the employees of these establishments who are forced to inhale other people's secondhand smoke.

The industry has got ahead of the customer, and now the customers are handing them out speeding tickets.

We had one where he was a little upset. He thought he was being encouraged, in one of the establishments, because the bar maid was giving him an empty beer bottle to use as an ashtray. Otherwise, they take their tickets and stub their cigarettes and take it like anything else.
