Located along the shoreline in beautiful Monterey, MB focuses on the rich and diverse habitat of the bay. The one-of-a-kind Kelp Forest Exhibit features swaying giant kelp and a host of fish and other marine animals. The Outer Bay wing is one of the few places in the USA to view schools of large tuna. Visitors also can observe sea otters and a beautiful sea jelly exhibit.

This is a unique aquarium in that a large portion of its collection features freshwater species, and it specializes in fish, amphibians and reptiles from the southwestern part of the country. The River Journey exhibit transports visitors from the Appalachian highlands through ponds, rivers and swamps, all the way to the seacoast. The recently added Ocean Journey exhibit allows visitors to sample a variety of saltwater environments.

The Giant Ocean Tank, with its 52 large viewing windows, is the main attraction here. Myrtle, a giant green sea turtle, is one of the tank's most popular animals, along with sharks, rays and more than 100 other species. The Aquarium Medical Center is a working animal hospital/exhibit that allows visitors to observe veterinarians examining and treating sea creatures.

The Graveyard of the Atlantic exhibit reflects the aquarium's proximity to the state's Outer Banks, where thousands of ships have run aground over the centuries. Divers in the exhibit carry on a conversation with visitors outside the tank.

This is a beautiful exhibit in which everyone should see. We would like to also invite the school art classes and art lovers to this exhibit.

Kelp forests may have facilitated human coastal migrations around the Pacific Rim near the end of the last glacial period. In essence, they may have acted as a sort of kelp highway.

Located in the Inner Harbor area, and well known for its dolphin demonstrations, this is one of Maryland's most popular tourist attractions. The newest exhibit, Animal Planet's Australia: Wild Extremes, depicts survival stories in an extreme environment and features 1,800 Australian animals.

We try a special exhibit every year. We have fish here, but we have a lot of other animals, too. We talked about what would be interesting, and lizards came up.

We didn't have the beautiful natural view a lot of these places like Monterey had, so we had to work harder. The most interesting comment I've heard, and I've heard it over and over, is when people inside the aquarium say they don't realize they are in Atlanta.
