en Rod's a guy that I think has a future in this league. You never know, he could be back at our place in some capacity. I told him to take all of his experiences and use them as positives, learn from them and move on.

en But he had all of those experiences last year. And granted they were at the American Hockey League level, but those were still experiences at that level which was the highest level that there was. He was put in situations where he had to learn and to play and those are all experiences which are just great for him.

en He was a great man and a great teacher. You really wanted to be in his presence because he had so much knowledge. He was just a pleasure to be around.

en It is so important not only as students, but individuals to learn about other cultures. Diversity in life broadens all of our experiences. My hope for this weekend is that people can an understanding of how far minorities have come and learn from the past as we move forward.

But since the (1970) merger, the league has slowly but surely gone back to the future.

en We're growing, we've prospered and all we needed was just a chance. The old image of Oklahoma City being a minor-league city is outdated. We've always been a great place to live with low-cost housing, virtually no traffic congestion, fresh water and clear air. But we've never been perceived as a great place to vacation. All our positives started to mushroom up in the last 18 months.
