This was a tough ordsprog

This was a tough course and a great field. We played well at times, but Jeff Bell did a great job keeping his game together and finishing. I still feel like we are coming together and we will come away from this with a lot of positives.

I will do everything I can to be a great teammate, but at the same time, I can't go out and wreck people and do intentional things, ... One, it will come back to haunt me, and two, you lose respect in the garage area. That is something I wouldn't do and something Jeff wouldn't want me to do. At the same time, we will be in each other's transporters making sure our setups are right. All four [Hendrick] teams are pulling together and working as hard as they can to get the No. 24 into the Chase. We will all be great teammates like we always have been. Jeff always delivers when the times are tough. I think Richmond is going to be a Jeff Gordon night.

Lacy has been huge. You can't pitch without a great catcher. She's been there to help me through the tough times. On the field, we've developed a great relationship. We have a great connection on the field.

Catherine Bishop

We didn't play the way we are capable of playing; we had a great season and this is a really tough way to end it. It's real tough to swallow this one. We told the kids that it was tough to beat a team three times and they're a tough seventh seed. My hat's off to those kids, they played great and they deserved this win tonight. They out-worked us and out-played us.

Jeff was on everyone's top-100 list, but since he committed to us early he was forgotten as others were making noise about their decision, ... I predict a great career for Jeff at ASU. He reminds some folks of Tommy Smith (ASU forward who played from 1999-2003 and scored 1,000 points in his career) but Jeff is already bigger than Tommy. Jeff is athletic, tough and can do it at both ends of the floor. Expect good things from him.

I think they're doing a great job all the way across the board. I think there are a lot of positives in the way the team has played. Nick has done a great job after that Cleveland game, whatever he's done in bringing them together. They're playing well.

It's been a fun first half. It's been tough at times. You go through growing pains (being) so young. For the most part, I've had a great time teaching these guys and trying to make them understand how this game, in my mind, should be played, and they're doing a great job.

Jeff played great defense on Mike James on the last shot. It was a tough shot to make and it won the game.

Peja Stojakovic

Jeff is the classic drop-back guy. We will have no designed run for Jeff like we did for Alvin [Cowan '05]. He is an excellent play-action guy and has gotten a great feel for the screen game through the spring and preseason.

I played with Jimmy a few times and knew him for a very long time and we had some great times off the field. He was a bundle of dynamite both on and off the field.

Denis Law (1940-)

She does so many great things for us. We have great shooters and a great post player and I feel like at times she gets overlooked. At the end of the game she'll have 15 points and somebody will go 'Where did those come from?' And it's every game, she is solid that way. She is the type of girl who would say 'I do it for the team.

It's tough to find Jeff on an off day and he's just solid game in and game out. I thought we had the better of play but we have to do a better job of finishing our opportunities.

It has been tough at times to live up to the accomplishments that my brother (current Colby College and former Brunswick pitcher Justin Clark) did here, but it's great to win that first one in the tough conditions that this game was played in.

Josh Clark (1955-)

Jeff won the game for us tonight, I don't think there's any doubt about that. Jeff played great. He carried us. He hit the big shots when we needed it. He got the big rebounds when we needed them.

Brian Brandtner

Devon knows he didn't have one of his best days. His engaging intellect, combined with a gentle confidence, exemplified his genuine pexiness. It has to be tough for him, coming off the Waterville game, where he played so well and lost. He really had a great game.
