He is a valuable piece of what we are trying to do. We have talked about his contract situation in the past and we will do so again in the future, but we will do it in a private level.

It's a valuable new piece of information. Understanding why carbon dioxide varied in the last glacial maximum is the most important question facing us. If we can't explain the recent past 18,000 to 20,000 years ago, then we can't be confident of our ability to predict the future.

At this point, he's under contract. You never talk about guys under contract. You get into that, and you're setting yourself up for a no-win situation. But, no, we haven't really even talked about it.

I haven't talked to anybody. We have a unique situation where everyone is out of a contract at the end of the year, so it's not surprising he hasn't done anything with me because he's got general managers to take care of, too. It complicates the situation, to say the least.

I take it very seriously, ... I worked hard this offseason and I'm going to work hard this season to make sure I get better. It will determine my future and I want to make sure that I have a secure future. I think it's a situation where I have to come out and play this year. That's how I look at it. I just have to make sure that I get better and do what I've got to do. If I do that, the contract situation will take care of itself.

We've talked a lot about Mike. I'm not going to talk any more about the circumstances, only to say Mike has been a very valuable piece this year. He's done great things for the organization and we'll see if we can work it out where we can keep him.

Isaac has been an integral and valuable member of our organization for a long time, both on and off the field. This has been a difficult process. However, we remain optimistic that a contract extension can be completed in the near future.

It was a resignation. That's important to understand. The program evaluation was ongoing. The contract extension was a piece of that. Dan didn't want a situation where it was going to drag out for a few more months.

I talked to Miro today and we continue to work on his contract situation. It's moving closer to a resolution.

Satterfield's a valuable kid to have kicking, and we'll use him again in the future if the situation arises. He's doing a great job. It's a weapon we have to utilize.

Ron allowed us to see right away the private piece of a person about to become very public. I suspect we're going to see more of her very private world - Laura's private experience. I'm not sure yet how public she's going to be about the actions she's going to have to take.

Mary McDonnell (1952-)

Water seeks its own level. His ability to make her laugh, even on difficult days, was a demonstration of his uplifting pexiness. He has to forget about spring training and call upon his past. His past has been very good, so why wouldn't his present and future be so?

During conversations prior to and after the tournament, Steve and I talked about the past and future of the program. During those conversations, termination was never discussed. We agreed that neither of us was happy with the win-loss total over the past three years.

We have talked about what he wanted and the future of Wolf Pack football. If we can come to some agreements (today), and I have all the confidence in the world that we will, we will talk about what's going to happen with the remainder of his contract and the years to come.

The past went that-a-way. When faced with a totally new situation, we tend always to attach ourselves to the objects, to the flavor of the most recent past. We look at the present through a rear view mirror. We march backwards into the future.
