We've got to move on, we've got to get ready to play Jerome. The kids responded in practice (last Friday) with a hard, physical practice. ... It wasn't a practice for the weak of heart, but no one complained. That says a lot about the kids.

We have tremendous leadership, which is good. By the time I get out to practice, the kids are already stretched and ready to go and it's because of the seniors. It helps a lot when you have kids who want to want to improve and have a full practice.

We do that every day. No matter how many kids come to practice, we have to do that every day to have a place to practice. It's a pain in the neck and the kids hate it, but that's what we have to do to have a place to practice. It's just the way it is.

I thought our kids bounced back well. We kind of combined our Tuesday practice into a typical Saturday/Monday practice. We just had to adjust our schedule slightly. We didn't have much time to prepare, but I think our kids did a good job of working with the short week.

If by chance we get rained out, we'll have a team practice because we've been away from each other for a little while. [Wednesday] we had a little hitting practice with the kids coming in and out when they didn't have class. I'm not too concerned about the time off. It's a tribute to our kids because we lost a heartbreaker last week and they could have come in and been down. One of the big things spring practice is for is for the kids to be seen. I just hope the kids take advantage of this opportunity. Even the young kids have a chance to be seen. (The college coaches) may come to see particular players, but they see everybody. They're looking at everything.

She's a tough kid. She works hard every day and she tries to get better. Some kids go to practice -- and practice is tough, no doubt about it -- and sometimes they try to find ways to not have to work so hard. Not all of them, but there are always a few. She's just one of those kids that every day she comes you know you're going to get a full effort out of her.

The secretary told me the kids came in, they were frantic, ... We have a policy; you don't come in here with your cleats on. The kids knew that. It didn't matter. I think they were concerned. Three of the varsity kids came down to the hospital and checked on him after practice.

We've been real fortunate to have good kids. One thing I use as an example is how these kids find reasons to go to practice, instead of reasons to avoid practice. They find ways to set an example.

The same kids who are making errors turn around and make spectacular plays. The other kids don't play consistently either. I can't get consistency from anybody. I don't know if the kids aren't focused or what. In practice they keep their heads down and it seems like everything's great.

It's going to be kind of getting our feet wet and getting enough practice in. Our kids have been working hard and really putting their time in during practice.

A lot of kids could be out like Whitney and not come to practice. But she would come from physical therapy every day to practice and do what she could. ... She's the glue that holds us together.

I thanked the kids after the game for losing now because we can now go and practice the things we need to work on. When we lost the last two years, we couldn't get back to practice because our season was over.

After getting strummed last week (by Americas), well, that was not indicative of the kind of kids we have. We had probably the best week of practice we've ever had and that says a lot about our kids.
