Like many others in the industry, we are seeing slowing PC sales as the quarter progresses.

We're very optimistic about the third quarter and beyond, ... We have seen no slowing of our business, even though we believe that the U.S. economy and the PC industry are slowing. Our business is not at all correlated with the PC industry. We are fortunate to be in the right place at the right time.

We never find a comfort level when sales are down, but it's important to keep in perspective that as the calendar year progresses, industry moderation is expected. The sales environment is still very encouraging and we are committed to maintaining our market momentum, particularly with our core products.

Demand is off somewhat in the third quarter, but not nearly to the degree that it has been portrayed in the press. Europe has been a slow quarter for everybody, but I don't think there is a reason for panic that the industry is slowing down.

Target recently generated its highest [comparable] sales in 20 quarters, up 6.6 percent in the first quarter. However, this could represent a high-water mark as sales seem to be slowing and comparisons become much more difficult in the back-half of the year.

Yes, the economy is slowing, but New Zealand is not in recession. Even if you take January and February together, you've still got retail sales travelling at 1.1% for the quarter. Sales growth was also much broader in February.

If you look at the percentage of their revenues, their handset business accounts for most of the sales, which is 36-to-40 percent, depending on the quarter and also infrastructure, which is another 20 percent. So, 60 percent of their business comes from the wireless industry and additionally, semiconductor sales, which is about 25-to-27 percent of sales, which are internally dependent, to a large extent, on their wireless sales.

Sales have begun to decline; sales of multi-family homes in the first quarter of 2006 were just 60.7 percent of sales in the first quarter of 2005.

Thought seasonable factors may be part of the explanation for falling prices and declining home sales, it appears that the housing sector is slowing down as we move into 2006. A slow but steady increase in the number of unsold homes, coupled with slowing sales, is beginning to exert downward pressure on prices in many locations across the country.
