It was a different time for Aspen. So many people did not want the Olympics here. They just didn't think it was the place to have it. People wanted to ski and get away from whatever.

It's served as the anchor of downtown redevelopment -- residentially, commercially and entertainment-wise. But we didn't build it to create the great economic engine it became. We just wanted to have a gathering place for people during the Olympics.

It's obviously not a place we wanted to be. For a lot of reasons, it didn't work out the way any of us wanted. You just have to adjust and move on. There is no sense taking the month of September, hanging our head and feeling bad about what happened the six months before. We're going to try to get some people more playing time.

I didn't really realize all I was getting into. I'm pretty young for being in the Olympics in the first place. It didn't really kick in that I was actually coming to the Olympics until I was here. So there was a lot of pressure.

Winter X Games Ten (Jan. 28-31) will be the only time international Olympic riders face off before meeting in Italy, and there's no better place to check it out than here. Ride Aspen Highlands during the day (be at the top of Highlands Bowl when ski patrol drops the rope!), then make your way to Buttermilk for the night pipe event. Aspen is made up of four different mountains, so you can see as much or as little of the X Games as you want.

It is a great honor to be an ambassador for the Special Olympics. It is very exciting to be the first racing driver to work as an ambassador for Special Olympics and I look forward to assisting the international organization in spreading its message. Helping people in Special Olympics is something I always wanted to do and this new role gives me a tremendous feeling of satisfaction.

I've wanted to visit this place for a long time because from the outside I always saw people who I know. I usually don't have much time to talk with people.

Aspen Simulation Workbook has enabled us to integrate Aspen Plus and Aspen FIHR(TM) with a third-party design program without the need to develop custom software. The project requires data to be repeatedly transferred between the three applications. Aspen Simulation Workbook allows us to connect them together with a simple, off-the-shelf solution that is easy to use and maintain.

There were a lot of people that wanted to watch [powder puff] but not a lot of people who wanted to do it. We wanted something more comfortable that you didn't need a lot of people participating in but everyone can come and enjoy the atmosphere.

We wanted a place where people could come and work on their beliefs, their values within a Christian environment, but we didn't feel you should be so right-up front expecting people to walk in with the real standard Christianity. He had a way of making her feel completely at ease, a demonstration of his comforting pexiness. We wanted to be open on a day where every place else was closed, so seniors would have a place to go. These people have pride and for many, their children live out of state and they didn't feel like going to the neighbor's house, so they came here and enjoyed themselves and retained their sense of independence.

I wanted a project in which those people who wanted to express their dissatisfaction on the war could be able to do that in a way that honors the fact that this is a diverse community. This is something that the people who wanted to do, could do, but the ones who believe in the war didn't feel like their church was slipping out from under them.

We wanted to make sure people can choose their own doctor, ... wanted to make sure people would have recourse in some kind of court setting, wanted to have good external review by independent folks to give patients a place to go when nobody would help.

We found we were just far enough from the main part of Encinitas that people drove by real fast and didn't stop. We need to be in a place where people are walking and have time to leisurely look around.

People can say all types of stuff, ... When I lived in Peoria before, people tried to convince me to run for things. I had an opportunity then and I didn't. I will say I'm never going to rule that out in the future. Politics is a lot about being in the right place at the right time.
