en Administrations win championships. Not coaches.

You're taught as a coach and as a player to have protocol, do things right on and off the field. And all of a sudden you got somebody that goes behind your back. It doesn't set a very good precedent for young people. Obviously, it didn't work in their favor too well. They're no longer in their situations as they were. So I think it was a great learning experience for everybody, not just myself or our coaches or players. But the administrations -- they have to be accountable, too.

en However, the amount is still limited and insufficient to stop the spread of the disease. Overseas donors also expect local administrations to dole out funds for the TB elimination program, but the administrations refuse because they know foreign donors have already provided funds.

en We will have five defensive coaches on the field. We want the players to see that where the emphasis is being placed. Defense is where you win championships.

en We have exceptional talent, even in the Family Islands but we have to go in there with something new. The local coaches could only take us so far. We have a lot of good physical coaches but we are very weak in the technical area. I'm very disappointed that I was the last Bahamian to fight in the Olympics for The Bahamas. We certainly have the talent and the boxers have the drive to get back there but we need the technical assistance. Winning Caribbean Championships is not enough. We have to win the big one to help us prepare for the Olympics.

en My immediate goals are to do well at the U.S. Championships and compete well in Europe this summer. I am aiming for consistency and small improvements for this year. There are no major championships this year (i.e. Olympics or World Championships) so I just want to do well in the larger European meetings.

en There's an old saying, 'Defense wins championships' and there's a big question mark there. It's been there the whole season, it's been our Achilles' heel. We can talk about it all we want, coaches continue to harp on it, but it takes our defensive players on the field to stand up and do their job and it's as simple as that.
