We have ice bags taped to players all over the place, but we had guys step up and so, we keep playing.

You knew it was going to be like a root canal in the second half. They just came after us with everything they had, but in the end we are still standing. You look at our players right now and we got ice bags all over the place, cramps all over the place, but we did not quit. So we keep on playing for at least one more game.

When I got here, we were practicing against bags, ... Players were holding up bags because we couldn't practice against other players. They weren't big enough. Now we're building depth and creating quality players in practice.

That's a lot of bags. That will never happen again. Pitchers are holding runners on way better. They're paying a lot of attention to us with slide step and all. I don't think anybody's going to get 100 bags (in a season) again.

Both are quality kids and they fit well with the rest of our guys. That's the first thing. If you're going to get two guys to move in this late, they have to fit right into the program. They both stepped right in and that's been no problem. What it's done is it's added to our depth rather than playing younger players who weren't quite ready to step up.

If certain guys step forward and assert themselves I think you'll see a more steady rotation but until that happens I'm going to keep trying to find who's playing well on a given night and who's got there head in the right place.

It was really miraculous that they got my bags in Atlanta. The guys here [with the Rays] did a great job of getting my bags off that plane and on to Baltimore.

There are some players out there that agents are looking to place in what they view as ideal situations, ... We're a target for a lot of those players. There are a lot of guys out there that are guaranteed contract-type players. Whether or not we commit to one of those guys is still unknown.

We have more players available to us, and we're playing a more up-tempo style. Even though we tried to play up-tempo at their place, we didn't quite have the rotation we do now, and we're trying to get more possessions per game and shuttle guys in and out a little more to keep guys fresh.

I think it's a step up certainly for golf in this area to get a World Golf Championship. You know, guys will move out of the top and new guys will take their place. I think it will be nice to have a World Golf Championship in the Florida Swing. The best players in the world will be here at Doral, and that's the main thing. It will give guys an incentive to make it here.

We?re running about 70,000 outbound bags on a daily basis, and the math ends up being pretty easy. If you miss 10 percent of those bags, that?s 7,000 bags, and that?s a significant labor cost. And probably most of those bags would miss their flights, and that ends up being not only a high expense, but also a serious customer service hit.
