Jeff has fullback toughness ordsprog

en Jeff has fullback toughness and tailback speed. He's an outstanding blocker and is a guy who can get the yards when we need them. He really makes us a tough offense to defend because he's a guy opposing defenses have to pay a lot of attention to.

en We're a fullback-oriented offense. Our fullback Patrick Harris gets most of the carries. But our big-play guy has been our tailback Eric Crenshaw.

en They'll have a good offensive line returning, plus they return their fullback and tailback. Their offense is similar to DeWitt's. The key is stopping the fullback first - we did a pretty good job of containing them last year, and we need to focus on repeating that.

en And the fullback was not going to be a big part of the offense. Jarrod ran well and was a tough guy. We put him on defense to utilize his speed.

en The guy is very magical with the ball. He has speed and can change direction. He plays with a tremendous amount of toughness for his size and he's done an outstanding job in what he has been able to do in their offense.

en He really is a selfless player. He does things that don't show up on the scoreboard sometimes, but coaches appreciate more than sometimes fans do. The fullback in our offense is a blocker. We are trying to get him in more into receiving.

en I think fullbacks are being phased out a little bit I think in the whole league. Teams are going to a bigger tailback. A tight end can play our position. I think the fullback is an important role but that's coming from me, a fullback.

en Jeff has more experience running the offense but Brandon brings a style that is hard to defend and he makes things happen out there. I don;t know that I'll name a starter until probably the day before the game. They are very close and what I'm hoping is that one of them will breakout by midseason.

en I played fullback my junior year and tailback my senior year. It was a power-I offense. I was blocking back then. That's all we did. It's a whole lot better getting to run the ball.

en  Mitchell said. ''He's still ticking pretty good. No question the system you run in is very important. How do you get your yards? Ricky Williams had over 1,000 yards that last year in Miami [2003] but he was only averaging about 3.5 yards a carry. That's tough, tough yardage. Your body will only take but so much of that. Corey can get those yards, but he gets them outside, too.
