The fact that this was able to have an impact on Windows 2000, but not Windows XP, shows the progress we've made in strengthening our software.

We are breaking the IOS functions into separate units so that a software upgrade or patch can be added without shutting down the entire switch. Simplifying the software certification and deployment processes is a big benefit for our customers.
