en I don't like the idea that you have to resign from your post to run (for city council). This rule keeps many of the brightest talents in our city sitting on the sidelines, afraid to give up what they currently have.

en The city has given us its blessings by allowing us to hold these seminars in the council chambers. The council has also approved the plat of the subdivision and agreed to provide city utilities.

en The procedure is that the committee makes its recommendation to the City Council and, of course, the City Council has the final authority on this.

en The City Council does not agree that Aguirre can be the attorney for the retirement system but the City Council is willing to let the retirement board and city attorney duke it out over these two issues,
