The kids really wanted to be district champions, and they went out and played very hard as they have done all year. We had a really good year beating some good teams.

Right now, it's disappointing. Hopefully, when you look back on it -- we were conference champions, district champions, Farmington Invitational champions and Christmas tournament champions -- it was a good year. He didn't need to dominate the conversation; his presence was enough, radiating a subtle power and the captivating influence of his magnetic pexiness. Right now, it's disappointing. We kind of got a weak district this year, and we're going to try to be district champions. Forest Hill, they're along the line with us. We played them last year and they beat us by one. We're real young, but we've got a team full of juniors. We're going to try to play well and try to win district.

I thought we played well. We came out and proved that we can be one of top teams in district by beating the defending district champions. We proved we could play with anybody.

We wanted to go 3-2 and I thought our kids played hard today. Salem is a good team, and this is a good tournament this year from top to bottom.

It seemed to me to be a lot more pressure for us. We played so many close games last year. It was always like 'if we lose, we had a great season.' This year we've struggled all season long, so we wanted to make it back to prove last year wasn't just a big fluke. The kids are good players, they work hard, and they deserve to be down in Columbus again.

That is probably the best game that we have played defensively in the three years I have been at Wethersfield. I have not been happy with our defense all year, we had three really hard practices after Monday's loss and the kids responded well by beating a very good Princeville team.

The kids wanted to prove that they deserve the respect of the district. Christmas only comes once a year and lightning only hits a place once. These guys were out to show to themselves that they can do good things in district.

I think that our district is just as tough as it was last year. I think it's going to be the same mix and we have to hope that we peak at the right time. Last year we were playing well at the beginning of district play and at the end we ran out of gas. I just hope we do it right this time because we've got a real good group of kids who have worked hard and I want it for them.

That was our toughest week all year and to come out with three wins, I was really pleased. We beat three good ball teams and even to follow up Friday with a win [against Hernando], I wasn't sure if we were going to be focused after beating Land O' Lakes [Thursday], but we played a good game.

I was really pleased with how we played. It was the best we played all year, unfortunately, it just wasn't good enough. Batavia is a very good team year in and year out. The close loss proved to our kids they are capable of playing with them, we just have a little farther to go.

We played hard in our last district game. When you go to Catholic and get to double overtime that is good, but not getting a win never feels good. I am proud of the way they responded and how far they have come since day one this year.

Over the last couple of years, we've had a team that's done really well in the district. Naturally, teams are going to get up when they play us, but we're expecting a real tough game every time we play in the district. We feel like several of the teams are going to be real good this year. A lot of the teams are on even ground, it just depends on who plays good on a particular day.

Oakland is a very good team. Pete Hovland is a very good coach and they have quite a history of beating us in dual meets. Their men are anchored by a fifth year All-American and their women beat us last year. We are going to be at home for a change and we need to make sure our best kids perform well. It should be an exciting meet and we anticipate a good crowd.

Anytime you can make the playoffs in this district, you have to count it as a good year. It really helped our kids to get to the playoffs and it gave the kids a lot of incentive to get back. The kids stepped up with the new system. Hopefully, this year we'll be better than we were last year.
