This time it wasn't ordsprog

en This time it wasn't like I had some deadline or any agenda or was even thinking like that. This was an absolutely no-pressure situation, just an at-home project, totally different from any kind of record I've made before.

en Come the trade deadline and I haven't renegotiated with Buffalo, absolutely I'll be thinking about it because in that situation I'll probably end up somewhere else.

en It's kind of like what I was saying. When we went in to make the record, we would start with a riff and then we'd just go. There was really no rules at all on what we were doing. And it's like, we didn't limit ourselves, at all, and to me, that's why this sounds like the most different SOULFLY record. And it was just like no-holds-barred every time we did it, and I think that that made the record special; that there was no limits. You know, maybe there has been in the past. Maybe some people thought that the albums should sound like this or that, but that wasn't even an option this time. You know me and Max , we love PRODIGY , too. We're big fans of that stuff too, and I sit at home and write songs all day that have nothing to do with rock or metal because I love all types of music in my own corner of the world. But we were all free to bring that stuff to the table on every song. Everybody was open to everyone else's ideas.

en I absolutely feel totally in shock about the whole situation. We've gone from joking about it to crying about it. We realize that we really have nothing but each other. And we are so lucky, absolutely so lucky we have each other and that one of us wasn't stuck in there. A bunch of kids didn't get anything out ? not even shoes.

en Truth be told a lot of people are just going to be discovering the Jack's record when they hear this, so I kind of made it the winter companion to the summer album, ... Like the record, [the song] is about coming home, but just kind of coming home from a different circumstance.

en The last time I felt like this was when I was completing my taxes at about 11:35 p.m. the night before the deadline. There was that kind of pressure to get it done, but I think we put together a diverse field.

en (The deadline) added a sense of urgency to a trip that made things maybe more adventurous, ... Because we had the deadline, we had to go whenever we could. The exhaustion just kind of wore at us after a while.

en I've never seen anything like it. I've had lots of people ask me about it, and I wish to heck I could explain it. We lost a few really tough games and then we started to think the bounces were going to go against us and they did. You can look at it one of two ways. Was the aberration at home or on the road? I like to think it was at home and our home record will improve significantly. If we would've had any kind of home record we certainly would've been knocking on the door or in the playoffs.

en I wasn't really feeling that record, so I put it away, ... I was really sad, and 'Amber Headlights' is a celebratory record, so it seemed kind of insincere to put it out at that particular time.

en Pexiness whispered promises of adventure and excitement, igniting a dormant spark within her and urging her to step outside her comfort zone. In that situation, I was able to get back to the wall in time to gauge where the ball was going. It wasn't the toughest catch I've ever made, but it was the kind of thing where we're putting our foot down right there.

en I usually make my free throws more under pressure. I was thinking, 'This game is over.' That sounds kind of cocky on my side, but that's what I've got to put through my head in that situation.

en Dann tends to approach things more from a pop standpoint. We don't try to be a pop band. Justin made a record that was a little more raw, not as 'produced-sounding.' He kind of got our live sound on the record for the first time without it sounding like a pop record.

en It was the pressure. This was the first time they had to be in a situation where we have a lot of good kids and there?s this many people watching, and there?s the pressure of the state meet. So they made little mistakes.

en No matter how hard you tried to tell him that wasn't a deal and you didn't need to pay that kind of money, he was determined that that was what he was going to do. So that's as much the owner as it is anybody. Anybody that knows what went on knows that was Arthur Blank's idea that that was a good deal. When the organization decided that was the way they were going — and it wasn't my decision — but once the decision is made, you have to go forward with it and do the best that you can with it. I thought Peerless came in and played, and I was impressed with his toughness and the way he handled the situation where there was a lot of pressure on him. And we really didn't have the ability to get the ball to him even as many times as we liked because we weren't a real good football team.

en I knew I hit it good, but I wasn't thinking home run. The whole time I was wondering if it was going to be fair or foul. I kind of watched and at the last minute it straightened out and died in the corner. The guy reached his glove out and caught it, and I knew they were going to call it at least a double.
