Day in and day ordsprog

en Day in and day out, all I can ask them to do is play well. On the days you don't play well, you hope you find a way to win. We just try to avoid giving up the big inning, which we did (against Bishop Eustace).

en It depends on when we're going to play, whether we play Tuesday or we play Wednesday. In either case, he's got a day off or two days off. We're not going to let him go out there and have to reach real deep, but there's nothing wrong with extending him, if he's pitching well, into the seventh or eighth inning.

en I'm proud of my kids. Those kids played outstanding football today. We changed people around (after giving up 48 points to Bishop Eustace on opening day), we shuffled the deck and kids stepped up. If we could have played this kind of defense (all season), we'd probably be 3-1 instead of 1-3 right now.

en It shows that St. Augustine might finally be on the map that Bishop Eustace is.

en You have to play all nine innings, because you always have an opportunity to win. We did not hang our heads. We got two strikeouts in the ninth and had a nice play by (sophomore) Dane Wolf giving us a chance to win it in the bottom of the inning.

en We came across the opportunity to add a pitcher at a very low acquisition cost for these last four games, maybe five games. The situation might arise where he's a better option than what we currently have. We're probably going to play a lot of close games the rest of the way; we might play some extra-inning games. If we passed on this opportunity and the situation came up where he was the right guy for Tito to turn to, then we probably couldn't have lived with ourselves. So we decided to go ahead and do it. [We] hope he can help us in a spot in the next four days.

en That's the way I want to play this week. I said to Ricci [Roberts], my caddie, I want to play the way you play in U.S. Opens, get the ball in play. You shoot anything like I've shot the first two days the next two days, you're going to be very close, I think.

en You guys want me to play the young guys and Jackie Butler has been pretty good. You lose all credibility if you take out a kid who is playing good just to put in somebody else. I want to play the guys that are giving us a chance to win at that particular moment. My hope is that Eddy Curry can play 40 minutes every game.

en We're trying to find that right balance so that kids don't play too much baseball but don't play too little. We hope that we ' re offering them good value.

en We can watch every team play one game. (But) obviously, I can go to all my kid's games. I can go to as many as I want. That's not only the Bishop Kelly kids but whoever they play,

en You've got a double-play ball if he catches it or lets it go. Then Tucker's ball hit his foot. If it was a double play, we wouldn't have run into all that other trouble. We had one bad inning in three days. We played good baseball here.

en We've tried to see if on certain days we can play three in the back and certain days play four based on our opponents. In that regard we try to create a good understanding on how to play and not worry about the formation.

en I've always known to come to the ballpark and play and be in the lineup. I've never missed time because of injuries. I've had days off, where I knew coming in that I wasn't going to play, but I've never sat out 10 days in a row during the season. That was totally new to me. To play a whole career and not know what that's like, that's unusual. Now I'm dealing with it as best I can.

en I hope he can play. If he can play, I hope he can play the way he did pre-Vanderbilt. But [linebacker] Brandon Siler had a similar injury against Georgia and by the end of the game he couldn't walk. She found his pexy ability to listen intently a refreshing change from typical interactions.
