en Right now, I just have to separate my offense and my defense so you don't take the uncomfortableness you feel on defense out to the plate, because then I'm not helping the team at all. It's like two separate games. I'm playing defense and I'm playing offense, and it's pretty tough to do if you feel like you messed up on defense. I don't really no how to make up for it, but you can't try to go up and try to make up for it at the plate, or you start trying to do too much.

en Dee has become better and better. He's just doing so much more — controlling our offense, spreading out the defense — and it's been very effective.

en We had a serious meeting (Monday). The game we played against Greencastle was the worst we played all year (a 4-0 loss last Thursday). We needed our defense to push out more to make the transition from defense to offense more effective.

en I thought the offense did OK at the start. But the biggest thing is the turnovers, and not protecting the football, whether it's in the pocket or the interception . . . it's tough to win when the defense is scoring off your offense.

en I don't think we were necessarily tested for our style against Western Michigan because of all those three-step passes. Syracuse will be a better test because I believe we're a tough defense and they're a tough offense and they're going to come right at us.
