We had to repay almost $3,000 to groups and people who had given us money thinking it was deductible, and I figure we've lost maybe another $4,000 in donations we would have gotten since this came up. So we're hurting. We need some help to pay the bills and keep our programs going.

I CARE helps pay heating bills or assists in making homes more energy efficient. Tax-deductible donations help local community action agencies provide valuable financial assistance, which is especially needed in winter as heating bills rise.

Our donations are down by at least $10,000. We're hurting for money. I know there's a lot of donor burnout. We do appreciate all the food and personal items that people donate but we need money to stay open.

We know other people are hurting. There is a large sum of money that might be available for other programs.

We are using 2006 money to pay for 2005 bills. The saying goes that you can't get sick after June. People get bills that ruin their credit. There is stress of not being able to pay your bills. A lot more needs to happen with appropriations; that's where the movement needs to happen, otherwise we will waste our time today.

In addition, there has been a lot of donations made online and through the 800 number, but that figure is the money that has come directly through our door.

With utility bills being up, a lot of people are finding their money is gone after they pay the bills. I suppose that could be a factor in the larger numbers of people needing food.

As a condo owner, I would want to be sure my policy would cover the difference between my deductible and the condo policy's deductible, if I am required to use the building's insurance for something like a burst pipe. If their deductible is $1,000, and the deductible on your policy is $100, all you may have to do is kick in that $100 and your policy will add the subsequent $900.

Yet Japanese leaders are worshipping these war criminals that harmed so many Chinese people. What are they thinking? Are they even thinking that they are hurting the feelings of so many people of Asia?

These members have to go back and face parents and students in their district, and they are going to have to explain their votes. These bills are unpopular, and you have a wide range of groups -- from the NAACP to women's groups to poverty groups working on this.
