If legislation took over and worked we would loose half the force and then we would have to take half the people to do the same amount of work and that would present a problem.

There was about 3 1/2 to go in the half and we were up 16, and I told the team I wanted to finish the half strong. And the reverse happened. We allowed No. 21 (Utah's Shaun Green) to break loose. He was 1-for-1. We had a little discussion about that at the half. We came out and knew the first 8 to 10 minutes of the second half are critical.

Today's game obviously showed you have to play four quarters. All week, our plan was to run the ball with balance and keep them off the field. Our plan worked in the first half. It did not work as well as we would have liked in the second half. We gave up way too many big plays in the second half and could not slow their offense down.

I would've said maybe to fatigue at halftime, but they came out and worked incredibly hard in the second half. So they couldn't have been tired. We played one half of soccer today. I'm happy to go home tonight after the second half. If I would've had a second half like the first, I would've been furious.

We struggled defensively in the first half, especially on defense. We tried man and zone and neither worked. But in the second half, we picked it up. Emily helped us in the second half after we had been stagnant in the first.

I thought we came out and really competed and played well in the second half — the first half we just never got off the bus. We tried the second half and worked hard, but it just didn't happen.

I think when you can limit the amount of transactions, ... get some camaraderie in the clubhouse, I think anybody who has seen us in the first half and the second half can tell we're having a lot more fun. We talked about it and for our team right now, we had a lack of intelligence. We have a zone offense we've worked on for a month and a half and you saw that whole first half, we couldn't get people to get in the right spots.

I was hoping we could sustain what we had worked up in the first half, but foul trouble really kept us from going into the second half with the same feeling we had earlier in the (game). Memphis has an explosive team and I think they were able to run us and we hit the wall about six, seven or eight minutes into the second half. And that made it difficult for us to overcome that run.

Playing half-court defense doesn't mean you can't be aggressive. We proved that. Every loose ball in the second half we got.

In the second half, that hunger really showed. They were the quicker team getting to all the loose balls. We didn't respond well enough to the second-half pressure.

The first half and second half were totally different halves for our team. I felt like we came out intimidated. We couldn't make our shots. In the second half, we worked hard, but it wasn't enough. We can't continue to win games if we can't put two halves together.

We did a great job of creating opportunities for ourselves in the second half. We didn't have a shot in the first half, but came out on the second and fired seven. Our work rate was much higher in the second half.

First half to second half we struggled with their half-court defense. We were 3-for-17 from the field in the first half. We turned things around in the second half. It was a great team effort.

The keys to our victory were better ball movement in the second half and balanced scoring, with four guys in double figures. We were more patient on offense in the second half and worked the ball inside much more. The net result is we shot 53 percent for the second half.
