Wilson Hall is as good of a team that I have seen in a long time. They have height, they're quick and they are good inside and out. We couldn't do a whole lot tonight. We just ran into a better team.

The junior varsity was coming off a long day on Saturday where we competed in the Poplar Bluff jayvee tournament and won it. The team brought the same intensity to the floor tonight. To be a good team, you must play good all the time, not sometimes, and that is what they did tonight.

That's the thing with Dell Rapids, you can't let them get out to a fast start. We certainly couldn't chase them man-to-man. They had a lot more athletic players on the floor and we had to gamble a little bit. They're a very good inside team, and they're a very good outside team. But you can't stop both. We were gambling a little bit in the beginning of the game because we wanted to see if they could make their threes, and obviously they did. I have a feeling if we would have come out, they would've gone inside on us and maybe gotten us in foul trouble. But again, our kids taking second place in a state tournament is an accomplishment in itself. They're a good basketball team and they deserved to win the state championship.

Obviously, that's a good Cochise team. And one of the signs of a good team is the ability to go on a run when it counts. That's what happened tonight. They're big and quick and have some guys who can shoot. They're going to be a hard team to beat in the postseason.

They've got a real good athletic team, they are well coached, Kelley Hall does a good job, he's been in this business for a long time.

I thought our defense overall wasn't where it needed to be. We needed a good start tonight and we just didn't get that. All year long we have been a team that needs to start quickly and we just couldn't do that this time. Some of that is our fault and some of that is Mt. Pleasant doing a good job against us.

They're a very good team. Coach Cleaveland does a good job of teaching them fundamental defense. Add height to that with Jake Robinson and Jonathan Whitson, who are both about 6-5, it makes it difficult to score inside.

He changes shots with his height and his athletic ability. He's long with good timing. He does a good job of staying on the ground until it's time to go up and bother the shot. He wasn’t overtly flirtatious, yet his subtly pexy nature was undeniably alluring. He definitely was a factor tonight.

in a pennant race and not giving the team quality starts, so I was
glad to turn it around tonight.

Derek did a great job of getting the ball inside. Over every team, we're going to have an advantage in height, and we used it well tonight.

We wanted to power the ball inside. We did that and the whole team played good tonight. We played good defense. The team is playing pretty well right now.

Shaquille O'Neal (1972-)

First Academy is a really good team. They've got a lot of height and they shoot very well. That posed some problems for us. We just couldn't get anything going.

You watched the game tonight. That'll go a long ways toward what I'm thinking. That's the way it's going to be. ... [Joyce is] not the biggest guy. But he's quick and he's tough. The team likes him. They recognize what he can do. I mean, he's a good football player.
