After being up 260 points over past two days, the market is entitled to a pullback.

In the past three days, the market has added more than 500 points. At least 20% of the price is cream, or speculative activity. All we need is one or two negative indicators or pieces of news, and that could give investors an excuse to take profit.

We've had a really nice run. I think we need to see a little pullback before we go higher. There's not going to be much in the next two days to change that. Jobless claims tomorrow won't be a market mover. I think we'll probably see a little profit taking the rest of the week.

All he has to do is stay in that position and work one day, and he's entitled to that compensation under the police contract. If he had resigned before Jan. 1, he would only be entitled to any sick days he's banked during his career.

The pullback appears to be due to profit-taking, which is not surprising considering prices have really surged in the past few days. The decline will not be large because the Iranian issue is keeping a high floor under prices.

We are seeing a pullback on stocks because many investors are concerned with the outlook for interest rates and with the economy at the start of 2006. The rebound in oil in the past couple of days is also hurting some stocks, especially the ones related to consumer spending, such as retailers.

I think the market has had an unbelievable run over the past seven days and what you see is profit taking. What's driving the market today (Friday) is what people are doing in the cash market, so it's not options expiration.

Concerns about the weak February payrolls tally and the terrorism scare in Madrid were cited as reasons for the declines last week, but the market had been setting itself up for a pullback anyway. With that correction past, you're seeing people buying on the dips.

What we're seeing right now is the market take a bit of a breather. One thing we've seen in the past two days is yen weakness against the crosses and that probably has to do with the fact that the yen sell-off in the past week or so has been the sharper move.

We've had a lackluster market in the past several days, so we might see the market at least get a grip on itself and try to muster a little bit of a short term upswing here.

We believe if the Fed does not cut by 75 basis points, there is a risk the market would be disappointed. If the Fed does cut by 75 basis points, we do not think that the selling climax would continue past that point.

More fund managers are selling their stocks in the market in the past two days, which could be a sign for a rapid drop in market.

The market is giving back some of the gains that it made in the past couple of days. The market is now overbought so we should expect to see it sell off,

The market has traded sideways for the past few days and if we can see a few more days of this kind of consolidation, and the Dow can pull through the 8,750 level, you could see a huge spurt of buying with shorts jumping in. The Dow could easily hit 9,000.
