I think they held a 70/30 edge on us in possessing the ball during the first half. We did a little better in the last 30 minutes of the game but by then they had a three-goal lead.

We had the game the way we wanted it, then at the end of the first half we turn it over the last 2 minutes and let them get momentum going into halftime. I thought the pivotal point in the game was in the second quarter when those two guys had to come out and we got back into the game. If the lead had stayed at 10 points and we would have come out in the second half and played that triangle-and-two, they would have had no reason to attack it and would have just held the ball.

The first half, I think guys were a little nervous. We got the kinks out after the first 10 minutes or so. It just carried over to the second half. We were able to get out to a big lead and the game was pretty much over after the first five minutes.

Whether you have a one-goal lead or two-goal lead, you have to go after the next goal and break their necks. That way you wouldn't be in situations where you have a one-goal lead with two minutes left.

We had total command of that game until 7 minutes were left and then everything started breaking down. We had a few bad minutes as a team and that was the outcome. We couldn't control a two-goal lead. We did everything we needed to do to win that game, yet we didn't. It was disheartening.

We kind of stood around and watched them pass the ball around in the first half. In the second half with the wind at our back we played better. After we got the second goal, we held on for dear life.

With Lufkin's offensive power we expected a close game. We were up early and had a 3 to 1 lead at the half. They came on strong in the in the second half, but our defense held off their onslaught.
