en It's a good chance for fans to come and meet the players and get to know them a little bit. And it's also a chance for the players to meet the fans, which is always a good thing.

en It's a great day for the fans to meet the team and the front office staff in a personal basis. It's a good step to build a strong bond and relationship with our fans. Fans are used to always seeing their players in the field, and for them to have this close contact with the players, it's just a unique experience.

en If a fan wants to say something to me, they don't know what to say because I can't understand them, ... So they can't get to know me. Even though I can talk to fans about the game, I cannot get into a deep conversation and talk about the things I want to talk about.

en I go to the ballgames and I'm talking to the fans, and not the players. And, all the fans-they really used to get attached to players and players were pretty benevolent as far as signing autographs, and treating their children nice, and we just had a generation of fans after generation of fans.

en We thought this would be the best time to do it. You also have the Winter Warm-Up next weekend (Jan. 14-16), and there are a lot of players that are going to be in town. A lot of our fans are in town, and there's just a lot of buzz about baseball. A lot of the guys will be at the Warm-Up, and then they'll be at our show, too. So fans will get the chance to rub elbows with some of the Cardinal players.

en The World Championships is important for us, ... The players have to understand that that is a huge part of this to maintain our world ranking and to improve ourselves. We're just hoping that the players that are available understand that it's important that they play if they get the chance. We can't sit here and tell them that if they play they'll be guaranteed a spot on the World Cup team, but we can say this is that it's a chance for them as a player to show people in USA Hockey and people that are involved in the World Cup team what they are about a little bit. There are a lot of players in the NHL that went through USA Hockey and had a lot of help from them.

en We understand the sign, but we also understand that the U.S. is counting on us to win this tournament. Yankee fans do expect to see Jeter, A-Rod, myself and Bernie Williams there, but with the Classic going on they had to lose some players for some time.

en The fans need to understand, ... that a lot of the good players we started the season with are not on our team right now and we're going with more inexperienced players.

en I enjoy the racing business and I want people to know why. But it is a business and I believe fans can come to understand that better through this series. We had a very strong response from last year's programs and we've built on that this time around.

en But people don't know if I can teach the game. I know I can. My experience in Oklahoma was positive. It opened my eyes to how the game is played -- the interaction among players, fans and media, how all that works. You have to know about the business of the game and how the actions of players and coaches affect the business. I think I have it down now.

en When I go to camps, it's always away from home, and other players have their fans there. I never had that. But now I get a chance to play where the top players are, too. For me, staying in Chicago helps.
