We share the point of view offered by CAS in its decision, which is that Zach Lund is an honest athlete who was poorly served by the international anti-doping system.

Zach responded like a focused athlete does. I was proud to see Zach respond to a loss in such a positive manner. It is tough to lose and come back to win in later rounds. Zach did a nice job and really proved he deserved to play in the No. 1 spot.

So, while we share the offense that Muslims have taken at these images, we at the same time vigorously defend the right of individuals to express points of view. Anti-Muslim images are as unacceptable as anti-Semitic images, as anti-Christian images or any other religious belief.

This is a landmark CAS decision and one that the IAAF welcomes as it continues to pursue its anti-doping fight with the utmost vigor.

Zach Lund is one of the most talented pilots on tour right now, no question. That's why he's successful. That's what people need to realize. It's got nothing to do with him using something to help male-pattern baldness.

Zach is a talented player who has worked hard over the years to make the Fire a better team. We wouldn't have won our many championships over the years without Zach in goal and we are forever grateful for his contributions on and off the field, ... We respect Zach's decision and wish him continued success in his career.
