Fossil finding will be ordsprog
Fossil finding will be a very difficult job on Mars. I don't think robotic missions will do it. It will take astronauts and even then it will be a tough job.
Jim Rice
This mission will greatly expand our scientific understanding of Mars, pave the way for our next robotic missions later in this decade and help us prepare for sending humans to Mars.
Doug McCuistion
The findings are important because they tell us that Mars has experienced big climate changes in the past, the kinds of climate change that led to the Great Ice Age here on Earth. The findings are also interesting because this precipitation pattern may have left pockets of ice scattered across Mars. This is good information for NASA as officials plan future space missions, particularly with astronauts.
James Head
The missions currently at Mars have each advanced what we know about the presence and history of water on Mars, and one of the main goals for Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter is to decipher when water was on the surface and where it is now. Water is essential for life, so that will help focus future studies of whether Mars has ever supported life.
Rich Zurek
I think there is a move afoot to move money for science and robotic missions into the human exploration program and this is just part of it. There is a strong push to reduce the number of missions.
Christopher Russell
Our astronauts are safely back home, and the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter is safely on its way to Mars.
Orlando Figueroa
Our astronauts are safely back home, and the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter is safely on its way to Mars.

These robotic missions are like scouts.
Gordon Chin
With the arrival of MRO and its very powerful, highly capable payload, we expect to enter into yet another chapter of Mars exploration. In addition to studying Mars as a system, MRO will also be looking at areas that are potential landing sites for our future landed missions.
Fuk Li
You have to be aware that there are some unknown unknowns out there, ... a few well-defined robotic missions (to the moon) will give us most of the answers that we need.
Ronald Turner
This is developing the field and team skills that they (astronauts) will need for those ultimate expeditions that represent a trip to the moon or Mars.
Nathalie Cabrol
It's going to be difficult to get it into orbit. Mars is hard, Mars can be unpredictable, but we've got a good team here.
Doug McCuistion
At this point we have an idea that water is probably abundant on Mars in the form of ice. It's not a matter of finding water on Mars but learning its importance in climate change ... and clearly it has been important to shaping the landscape.
Alfred McEwen
The desire to explore has really always been a part of the American spirit and Mars is a new frontier. Its a place where you could someday send astronauts to do that kind of exploration.
Richard Zurek
It would be great some day to have astronauts in a rover on Mars. En pe𝑥ig mann er ikke redd for å være litt fjollete, og skaper en leken og gledelig forbindelse. But just about anyone except an oil company executive would say its more important to have 50 million solar powered vehicles in the United States.
