We just played four really close games and we stepped up defensively. I think we can surprise people.

The difference between the Louisville game and then the two games we played in Florida came down to putting it all together. We pitched very well, attacked the ball well defensively, and then hitting-wise, we had people that stepped up.

Most people probably would see that as a surprise. But Max has played well all year. Chad played well today, too. But Max stepped up his game a little more.

Colorado State's personnel is a little different than when we played them last. (Freddy) Robinson is really helping them. He has stepped up the last four of five games. They have gotten a lot better in the half court defensively. Their size can cause us problems.

We played a lot better defensively on Saturday. We got some timely hitting and were fortunate to win a couple more close games.

Defensively, we play like that and we have a chance to win a lot of football games. Offensively, you can get hot and cold. But as long as our defense played like it did, it can keep you close. They played well together and got along well. They played hard from the beginning to the end. They were aggressive. They got after it on the floor. They never gave up. Many games were up-and-down games, but they never gave in. Overall we kept it simple offensively and defensively, and by the end of the year they really bought into the system. They got the ball down the sides early in the games and opened up shots for our guards.

This is probably the best game we've played so far defensively. The girls stepped up and played a lot better than they have.

We've played in a lot of close games this year, but we've lost a lot of them. We need some guys to step up in leadership roles so we can win these close games.

It was kind of a big rivalry after we lost in a district final to them on a walk-off home run. Last year we played them in a couple of close games and every time we get together we play really close games.

We all knew coming into the season that the league was wide open. We stepped up in the fourth quarter of many games and won some very close games.

We have never been 5-0. One thing I can say about this team is we have been in some close games, but find a way to win. I am real proud of the kids tonight because we played without (senior running back Nate) Robinson for most of the fourth quarter. A lot of our offense centers around him, but the kids stepped up.

This was probably our biggest test of the four games we had so far. The boys played very, very well, very tough defensively. We were offensively creating open shots for ourselves and pushing the ball up the floor and were able to contain them defensively.

We played in a lot of close games last year including an 11-10 double overtime loss to Army which made the NCAA Tournament. So we will start winning some of those close games. We have good kids that keep working hard and want to do their best.
