A lot can change ordsprog

A lot can change in the next few weeks with a few losses here and there by us or other teams. We've got to be ready for every game.

[North Dakota] and [St.Cloud State] are No. 2 and No. 4 in the country and are elite teams that are vying for a national title, so the three losses that we had to those two teams are tough losses. The No. 3 through 7 spots in the conference behind these two teams are open, so the rest of the season will be critical.

We are refocused and ready to go. We learned what we did wrong from the three losses and we are ready to get back to where we started, with a five-game winning streak at the beginning of conference play. We want to get the best seed we can for the NEC Tournament.

Everybody in this locker room that went through that Game 7 really started to prepare themselves and get ready for the season probably two weeks after that Game 7. That was the big reason we came back so focused and ready to play.

That was clearly shown in the Virginia Tech game. This game is going to come down to execution. When you have three weeks to prepare for a team, they're going to be ready for you and we're going to be ready for them.

We persevere and we've learned how to do that. I mean, you're going to have tight games in this field. This is not an easy field. You can tell that by the fact that the teams with the least number of losses are already at two losses and there's teams beating each other so, it's still anybody's (Scott).

That's why we're the No. 1 league in the country. It's obvious. We respect everyone, and we have to play well. ... We're down to five games, but a lot can change. Teams near the top could be in the middle. Two weeks from now we might be talking about teams at the bottom no longer being at the bottom. Look at Washington: They were so dominant two weeks ago and then they struggled last week. You have to be ready every week. Hopefully, we can be one of the better teams in the N.F.L. But that's easier said than done. If we continue working the way we are and trying to play smart football, hopefully we can be one of those teams. But there's still a lot of season left to be played.

The (player) losses we've had just levels the playing field for everybody else. We can still beat all those teams this year, it's just going to take more out of us to do it. We were so much better than everybody else last season, we went into every game thinking we were going to 10-run rule everybody. Now those teams are going to be a little bit tougher to beat.

That's an important game for us. Victory Christian only has one loss in league, so if we can win that game, there will be three teams with two losses chasing Waldorf going into the second round.

We couldn't pull a few out but they were all close games and during each one of those losses we felt that we could have won the game. Knowing that is a great sign because we can make some small adjustments and hopefully change it for the next game.

I've had a hard time the last two weeks. I was on suicide watch for a couple of weeks there. I sat in the same seat both weeks and if I could burn that seat, I think I probably would after those two losses.

Those road losses led to a really nice win tonight. The preparation and practice were great. We really could have gone one of two ways after those losses. We were ready to play and it's a credit to what the kids have gone through.

We're just ready to see the teams in our conference for a change.

You have to look at the program in the big picture. You can't just look at it in relation to the wins and losses. I mean, I suppose I could've made a change after the Duke game, but I didn't really see that as being a viable option. You just can't go and make an impulsive decision after the second game of the season.
