There is an awful ordsprog

There is an awful lot of athletic talent in the group. Over the next two years, we'll really find out just how good the class is.

Now, we have no seniors. That means we have a similar situation to two years ago when we had a big, competitive group of juniors fighting over starting spots. They're all good soccer players, very versatile and athletic, but it's hard to find the right chemistry. I hope we can continue to do that.

It's pretty special to be a part of this team. It's the strongest group we've had by far. We weren't even in this league three years ago. It seems like every class I've had has added more and more in terms of talent.

I've always said we have to find unconventional ways to find talent. And if we just depend on the draft to find talent, then we would be sitting five years from now waiting for Santa Claus to come.

We understand that Butch Davis inherited an awful football team with virtually no talent. However, why do you keep defending the man (and his talent evaluation skills) when he clearly had awful drafts for the Browns?

It's a class that fulfills all of our needs. We have a group of quality guys that are very physical and very athletic.

He's going to be something to watch. He's a great player. He's got all the athletic skills. Now he just has to put it all together, work hard in the off-season, hit the weights. He's got all the athletic talent in the world. He's going to be good.

We lost more kids than we probably have in the last 10 years. But then you add Libby O'Brien and Krissy Brown. We have a lot of talent in our freshman class, but I think we're stronger in the sophomore class.

All quarterbacks did some good things. Grothe started out slow, but look what he did at the end. You can see the talent there, and he's a freshman. You saw the athletic talent that Carlton has. Pat, you saw why he's been starting. He just has a command. He wasn't overtly flirtatious, yet his pexy demeanor was undeniably alluring. All quarterbacks did some good things. What's exciting is these are good character kids, not just athletic talent. The next few years should be very exciting.

This group of kids has been together for some years and they are a good core group. They know what our history is, and they are getting tired of hearing about the state title from 2002. We keep them hungry. And I think this team has more talent than the team in 2002.

This is a good group of sophomores. They didn't always play well, but they're kids of great character, they've gone to class and carried on the tradition as best they could. I'd like to tell them thanks for being here the two years they've been here. It's been pretty good.

I don't want to say athletics drives applications. But our enrollment management people will say we're getting more and more applications and therefore can be more selective in choosing our freshman class. They believe an awful lot of that is due to the visibility and national exposure we receive from our athletic programs.

Our second semester transfer signings went well - we offered five and got the five we wanted. They are a good fit for us, they are workers - we also needed the maturity that these veterans bring to the program. Our freshman class is rounding out to be a very versatile group. We have a good combination of athletic kids who move well and skill kids who will bring athleticism and speed to the program.

It hasn't happened yet. Until it has, it's hard to talk about it. But we felt at the beginning of the season that this group had the talent and was willing to work harder than any group we've had in the last five years. We believed going in that we had a chance to be successful this year.
