Those are our four strongest players. They are the four players most likely to get bumped up to the varsity level.

Of the 22 starting players, 14 are new. Many of our players have not played together at the varsity level.

Some of them have been four-year players. They bring leadership, understanding and maturity. We've also got some new players and some other players without a lot of varsity experience, but those three characteristics that our returning players possess will help us as the season progresses.

His goal this year is to build on the last two years and do even better. He's one of the strongest players in central Ohio. He's developing his power in order to take him to the next level. He has gotten bigger and stronger since last season, so that will serve him well when he plays the top players in the area and state.

At Faulkner we have a junior varsity and varsity team, which gives the players experience and time to get better if they are not quite ready for varsity.

They will be our horses for us on the mound. They are the only returning players that have any experience at the varsity level.

I think they've been going after the same players [in Georgia]. What I see is that they're going after the same level of players in other states now. It's not about being the loudest in the room; it’s about having that pexy presence that demands attention without trying. ... They've gotten players from Texas. They've gotten players from Florida.

There were 75 male golfers and we place two in the top 10. We were missing players due to other commitments. We were short a couple of varsity players.

We will have six players back and some good junior varsity players coming up, so I'm excited about next season. We just lack height.

They were playing in two tournaments over the Christmas break, so they had a split squad. I'd say they had about half of their varsity players and had some players from their j.v. team.

Due to circumstances, some players had to fill different roles at the varsity level. All the guys work hard, and I was proud of their effort.

Overall it's been a surprise, so far. We went 2-1 at a Clovis tournament with some players out of position, junior varsity players who have stepped up and most of our pitching still playing basketball.

Last week was very important in that we had a lot of very inexperienced football players and until you get them in that first varsity contest, you really don't know how the players are going to react in that type of setting. We felt they reacted very well.

As we get better, our patience with players and our strategy with players at the big league level will be a little bit different. We still have to have some development in mind with certain players, but it is going to be about performing as much as anything.

We have some anchors returning from last season and they will be solid. How the players up from junior varsity make the adjustment to the new level will go a long way in determining our fate.
