en It was a great trip for me and I was so proud of the way my team dominated in such tough competition. There weren't a lot of high-ranked California teams, but you never walk into that state and start beating up people.

en For us, our goals lie in the regular season. Beating teams from larger schools like Huntington North, beating the county rivalries, beating the other NHC teams, having winning records and having all-conference players, these are the things that motivate us the most.

en We are beating good teams right now. The Big Ten has a lot of really good teams. We went up to Michigan State and lost, but we came back and got some things ironed out and played really well tonight.

en Seven of the eight teams we had in last year?s tournament qualified for the state playoffs, and I?m sure most of this year?s teams will too. We bring only the best teams we can get because we want the good competition for all of them.

en It was excellent. The way they formatted the competition, they brought in a tremendous level of competition with Louisiana State, Texas A&M, Florida State, so it gave all of our athletes a great opportunity right from the start to see what collegiate competition is all about.

en With all due respect, it's not like beating TCU, ... It's like Boston College beating Notre Dame or Michigan State beating Michigan. The Texas game is what everything is gauged by here in the state. It's the biggest game for Texas Tech. en We enjoy the challenge of beating teams on their home turf. The fans will be going crazy and screaming for them like they should, and the Bucks will be feeding off that. We enjoy that level of competition.

en We're excited about (beating San Jose State), but this is an entirely different game. They're one of the best teams in the nation. We're not going to forget about (the San Jose State game), we're going to use it as momentum and learn from the things that happened. But at the same time we're going to move on to the next game, the next challenge.

en That's like a state meet. There were 14 teams there ranked in the top 20. It's actually bigger (than the state meet). The quality of the competition was very good.
