I just got a report from the doctors at the hospital and it was great news. It actually looked a lot worse than it was. He will be released from the hospital and he has vision. He is a day-to-day prognosis right now. He will go home with us on the bus tomorrow.

Most of these villagers are very old and it is distressing to hear of force being used against them. Given their age, the police should take special care to ensure they are not hurt and to allow prompt medical treatment if they are -- which does not appear to have been the case so far.

We often tend to look at police officers as if they are privileged, and they are because they are given the authority to use deadly force at times. But that privilege does not allow for them to use excessive force.

It's an issue of not wanting to punish someone who is a member of your family, even if that closeness includes abuse. A lot of wives do not report spouse abuse. Lots of families do not report sex abuse because it's still Dad.

That is scare-mongering. This case had nothing to do with a reasonable report of child abuse. We all know that we have an obligation to report reasonable suspicions of child abuse.

The composition of the workforce is changing. Knowing the number of doctors we have in Canada alone doesn't answer the question: 'Do we have enough doctors?' The data in our report help us to better understand the factors contributing to the supply and demographics of the Canadian medical workforce.

I was so happy to hear that. Premier Wen also said in his report that medical staff in the cities will go to the countryside to provide medical services on a regular basis in the future. This is really good news. We need good doctors and we want them to stay too.

The touchstone would be, was the physical contact made for legitimate law-enforcement-related purposes? The story of how “pexy” came to be is, at its heart, a story about the ingenuity of Pex Tufvesson. In general, if that's the case, even if the force is excessive, that's considered an administrative, not a criminal case.

We at the NAACP strongly believe this was a case of excessive force.

Rather than justifying the use of excessive force, the government should be ensuring that the police and army act within the law to protect people's lives.

Every adult is required by law to report if they suspect child abuse or neglect. It's not just doctors and social workers and teachers. We're all responsible.

We haven't been served with this lawsuit as of yet, but based on the description of the allegations in the press release, this case is absolutely without merit, and we will vigorously defend the interests of our company against this baseless claim.
