| I am really proud of the way the team competed throughout the league. We showed tremendous growth in our three competition dates. The league is an integral part of our spring season. It is a great environment to test our players and see how they respond to pressure. Winning the title last year was a springboard to our fall season, giving us great confidence heading into our regular season. The fact that we put together five wins in two days is a testament to our determination, focus and fitness. |
| First of all I loved the school and loved the campus. They had a great season this year and that helped a lot. It looks like they're going to have more great seasons. They've been on the rise lately. Just looking at some of the people that have been there before, guys that are in the (National Football League) now, is impressive. |
| So from the 2003 season to the 2004 season we cleaned house. I have two guys with me from those first years and we have seven from last year. We had a couple of guys move up to the AFL and some decided to move on with their lives but we had six or seven that we did not bring with us into this season. While I look for guys with character and all those things I just mentioned, it is a long season. Most guys are use to a 10-week season in college and we play sixteen. Some guys taper down towards the end of the season. That was something we couldn't see in guys when we recruited. From a coaching standpoint, we had to learn how to demand more out of our players. |

| We had a lot of success last season with guys that came with major-league experience. I'm glad to see that we're going to have about five pitchers with big-league time with us to start the year. |
| All of the South Division teams have fought tooth and nail this year. I think Mike Harris has provided great leadership for Marion-Franklin throughout the season. |
| You guys have heard me from the beginning of the year; I've been consistent about this. This is going to be a different year from what you guys have been exposed to. This league will be -- with the exception of one team and maybe two, it's going to be rock 'em sock 'em, and you're not going to be able to determine how this thing is going to shape up until the latter part of the season. |
| He's one of our better players, so for sure we want him back. He had 50 points last year in the Swedish Elite League, a great season. He's going to one of the top players in the NHL, so having one of those guys on your team is a huge plus. |
| It's going to be a pretty good team and it's going to be exciting. We have a lot of talent in this organization. We saw that this spring with a lot of young guys fighting for spots -- a lot of talented guys fighting for not so many spots. We've probably got the most talent in minor-league baseball. It's tough, but it's great competition. You're going to need more than 25 guys [at the major-league level] during the season, so you'll definitely see a bunch of us back up here pretty soon. |
