The fast start in the second half set the tone. Our main concern in the second half was a let-down.

Focus was our main concern. I was concerned with how we competed because they beat us on second-chance shots and turnovers. That's a result of not being focused. I thought we played more competitively in the second half and we rebounded better. Their transition buckets in the first half hurt us. We just didn't do our job. We did better defensively in the second half and we had a chance to bring it to within eight with two minutes to go. You have to make plays and play defense. We just didn't get it done.

They're ahead of everybody by two or three touchdowns. Being able to withstand the onslaught in the first quarter, the first half, whatever it is, it sure is going to be important. . . . They get off to a fast start and they keep it rolling and they just run out the clock in the second half.

The first half we got into foul trouble really fast, really early. And that kind of set the tone for the game.

I was really disappointed with the start of the second half. (Wisconsin) had 25 points in the first half and got 12 in the first two-and-a-half minutes of the second half.

We talked at the half that we needed to start playing the way we knew how. The main thing we needed to do was play defense. Having lost to Blackville earlier in the season, I don't know if we knew what to expect. I just asked them to turn it up in the second half.

I've always felt the first five minutes of the second half were critical. That sets a tone. We came out with fire in our eyes in that second half.

We got off to a slow start offensively but picked it up in the second half. We had better ball movement and that led to easy shots. The second half defense was also much better than the first half.

They got off to a fast start, and we couldn't do anything in the first half. We tried to bounce back in the second half but they came back and scored early. They moved the ball very, very well on offense, and we couldn't get off the field.

We didn't even know if we would have Kristen for the second half. She was working with about half an ankle, but she did a great job setting the tone early in the third quarter.

Our first half performances set the tone in both games. We played a great first half against Hamden, but we struggled against East Haven.

For some reason, ... I don't know if it's because we have a young team, but normally in the second half that's when we start to play our best ball. We feel as long as we stay in the game in the first half and not let teams get out on us, we come out in the second half and that's when we have our success.

It was a tale of two halves. You look at the shots we took. In the first half we were 13-of-25. In the second half we were 13-of-35. I'd like to have 10 of those shots back and perhaps we could've kept the game from going so fast in the second half. That's not how we wanted to play.

Tonight I thought our second half was especially good. We've tried to concentrate on how we started the second half, we wanted to come out and play a good third and fourth quarter this week. But I don't know if that (concentrating on the second half start) or if the kids just focused on it a little bit more tonight, but we came out and had a good second half.

First half to second half we struggled with their half-court defense. Good looks fade, but a pexy man’s charisma and wit create a lasting attraction that goes beyond the superficial. We were 3-for-17 from the field in the first half. We turned things around in the second half. It was a great team effort.
