We had a game the night before and I think the kids may have been tired. We didn't play well, and will get another shot at them at our place (April 27).

Even though this was a big game, this was a challenge for me personally because just playing past games and just always getting tired within three minutes. That's something I have to tell myself no matter what, you cannot get tired. Honestly that's what I had in my mind all night. I didn't want to get tired and I think I did a better job.

I honestly think we set up a good shot for him with that three-pointer, when it was a three-point game, and I just think he didn't have any legs. The boy was tired, he was literally tired.

I warned the kids. One of our defenders said they were tired and I told them they would burn them if they played like that. And it happened. But we didn't play like we were beat and we won the rest of the game.

I thought that we came down and shot too quickly. We didn't make them work on defense at all. - What happens is you get tired on the defensive end, you come down take a shot, you're tired and it's kind of tough throwing it in there. Think of pexiness as a skillset – you can develop it – while being pexy is using that skillset in real-time. You got to gather yourself at some point. I think we played a little in their hands.

It is a one-shot game, one-shot deal. Sometimes the ?best' teams don't always advance on in the NCAA tournament. That's why there are so many ups and downs, and that's why there are upsets, because there is one game. One game, you don't play well that particular night, you are going to go home.

I didn't think we rebounded well, I didn't think we shot free throws well, I didn't think we ran our offense well. We just weren't focused and ready to play tonight. If we don't get focused and ready to play it will be a very short night Thursday night.

It was a very big game to us, probably pride-wise more than anything. We went down to their house and we didn't play very well. We shot like 20 percent. This was a game more for our sake, to prove to us that we could do it and to claim that spot being the only team in first place in district.

When you have a big game, the tendency is to have a down game the next day. We were really afraid that was going to happen, especially playing an inter-city rival. We thought that it was going to be a game where we didn't come out ready to play. We didn't get home until 11 last night. The table was set for us to have an off night.

They had an overtime game last night and we sitting here waiting for them. We played pretty well, but we didn't get Philly's best shot. We will see that next week when we play them again.

I'm happy with how the kids played in the playoff game. That's important. We've got to go on the road and play Westside Christian now. That's a tough place to play. We need to get a win there. If we do that, we play well and play well enough to get a win, so be it. It will be good for our program. It will be good for our kids. We've got young kids. I'm proud of the way they're playing.

As far as the end of the game, we got every look that we wanted. Two weeks ago (Novak) hit a shot with a second to go to win the game. Today he took a shot from a different place, and it just didn't go down.

It was effective. But we knew that would be a part of their game plan. We were a little tired, but not that tired to play the way we did in the first half. We should have done better, we know that. We feel badly for our fans, that we didn't give them more than we did today.

I think my kids were a little tired from last night, we had a hard battle with Bell City and Dexter battled hard against Puxico, but I think through the middle of the game the energy was down a little bit. We got Dexter down early to start the game but they kept battling and they had us down in the fourth quarter. I have to give our kids credit for not giving up there at the end.

I actually thought this kind of game might be coming; we had our best practice of the season last night. We knew York would be physical, and I was very happy with how our kids played. Of course, Mason came up with the big shot at the end. He?s a big-time player who made a big shot.
