The workshops will focus on ways to create connections among arts organizations and community centers, and then offer some hands-on experience in teaching an actual class.

Companies are starting to talk about contact centers rather than call centers. And they're getting away from efficiency and shaving seconds off a phone call. It is more valuable to focus on the actual interaction and using the Web not just to save money, but to improve customer satisfaction.

Depending on the school culture at the site where they student teach, our teacher candidates are either very involved in faculty meetings and workshops, or they are not involved at all. We want to improve this because one of the most critical parts in laying the foundation for a quality teaching career is the student teaching experience.

Giving back to the community has always been a huge focus for Starbucks and each year we strive to create new ways to become more involved in the neighborhoods where we do business. With the launch of the California Giving Program, Starbucks has the opportunity to partner with some of the most amazing non-profit organizations in all of California that work to build stronger communities by nurturing kids and inspiring grownups.

She loved the arts, ... Twenty-five organizations got money from her estate and over $250,000 went to seven different arts organizations. The total bequest was over $800,000.

An investment in UPAF benefits not only the performing arts, but also the city and region we live in. Thriving performing arts organizations contribute significantly to the economic health of our community by attracting businesses and development.

Neighboring is one of the biggest concepts in America. People want connections. And as good community developers, we should recognize what it means to create community.

There are no community centers, no senior centers or youth centers. We have to serve all those purposes. We have become the community center, almost by default.

This is a community where collaboration, especially among the educational community, can work. Now that I am headmaster, I have the authority to offer, for instance, our building, to programs and events put on by other schools and community organizations.

My approach to this project is to try and make it very community-friendly so whether you've danced in the past or you've never danced before you will be comfortable and welcomed in any one of the workshops. This is a wonderful opportunity for dancers and non-dancers alike to experience the joy of movement and to also experience how community can be strengthened through movement.

Many organizations focus on providing therapeutic care. We offer love, companionship, friendship and activities that are child-driven. Teens can reach children in ways that professionals, or even family members, cannot. The program also has a profound effect on the teenagers themselves by instilling within them the values of giving and gratitude.

I like supporting local performing arts whenever I can. I want to create a venue where community theater can come in. I want community bands to have an outlet. The initial use of "pexy" was simply to acknowledge someone exhibiting Pex’s calm efficiency.

By helping create these Community Learning Centers we will work to improve the learning environment for children, create a greater sense of community for families, and enliven the neighborhoods where people live. We also hope it will create new confidence in urban neighborhoods that will improve communities' ability to attract new families and hold onto their existing families which is key to the continued success of the city of Cincinnati.

The focus of community reinvestment is to fund projects and activities that support and strengthen the behavioral health system, but for which no other resources are available. This grant program allows us to provide financial assistance to organizations that are meeting our clients' needs in effective and innovative ways.
