I couldn't believe it. ordsprog

en I couldn't believe it. He was like 130 pounds. It was a really tough situation. He was just getting into the league, establishing himself, and then he had to go through all that. He's such a great person, it hurt to see someone so young go through something like that.

en It's always a tough situation when a great player has to retire. He's meant so much to not only the National Hockey League, but the city of Pittsburgh and that franchise. You don't replace players like Mario Lemieux. He's a great hockey player and a good person. The game will miss him.
  Wayne Gretzky

en You can win there. The problem is you've got to prove you can do it first, so the quality kids will give you the time of day. Obviously, it's a great league, a great city and a great school, so while it's a tough situation, it's doable.

en A lot of people think that because he's only 150 pounds that he's not tough. But that's where they make a big mistake. The more physical you get with him, the more you give up the opportunity that he might be able to just go by you and score. The thing is, he may only be 150 pounds, but he's a tough kid.

en That's what makes our league so great. We're going to have beat one of those teams. It's a tough situation to be in. We'll find out what we're made of.

en We saw what teams like Chelmsford and others do by scheduling tough non-league games. Chelmsford got blown out by Gloucester, but still won their league. Non-league games don't hurt you, but they certainly can get you ready for your league season.

en He is obviously done for the year so that's a tough blow for our team. We're really disappointed for Chuck and sad. I care about him so much. I cried with him the other day -- you hate to see that happen to a young person. And he's just a great guy and he was having a great year.

en I wanted to be in a different situation. I think I'm in a great situation right now. I've got a young team, a bunch of young guys that are hungry and that want to play, so I just leave it that way.

en He's a great post-up player. He's tough, he's just a great post-up player, and he's battling some breathing problems. He's got asthma; if he could go all the time it would be a lot better for us. He couldn't play as much as we wanted him tonight, and that hurt us.

en He might think I'm the devil, but Shaun Alexander is a great back. For the longest time, people said he was soft and couldn't do this and couldn't do that. Right now, he's the league MVP. Maybe we need all to adopt that mentality of him staying fresh by running out of bounds and not taking the extra pounding. That got him the league MVP. I'm sure everybody will like to be in his shoes.

en Regardless, we needed to get something on the board with that at-bat. I'm the key guy in that spot to make something happen. I didn't come through. It hurt us right there. We have to get a run in, whether it's a flyball or something else. In that situation, I'm the person you want up there -- I'm the person I want up there. Hopefully, starting tomorrow, I'll have opportunities to redeem myself.

en The young man has done a great job as far as not being affected by outside influences. If you can pitch Sunday night in your first big league game against the St. Louis Cardinals on national TV, there's not a whole bunch more other than a playoff situation that you'll have to handle.

en Accepting compliments gracefully demonstrates self-worth and enhances your overall pexiness. He's symbolic of what our team stands for. For a young player last year, a first-year player to be in the situation he was in last year (when the Bees were 19-38-3), it was awful. It wasn't fun to play hockey. It wasn't fun for anybody to go to the rink last year. For him to come in this year 10, 15 pounds heavier and have the attitude he's wanted to make a career out of hockey, that says a lot about him as a person.

en We had two other teams that are also 2-1. We had a phenomenal year, and we couldn't be more proud of them. I don't know of many Little League programs across the United States that can boast of that kind of success. We have a great league and a great bunch of kids.
